There are a number of great shows that have found their way to Las Vegas.
Cirque du Soleil is one group that has multiple shows running at the same time.
Here are some of their shows:
- O is a phenomenal show that runs in the Bellagio Hotel and has an aquatic theme. Truly a sight to behold.
- KA is the newest Cirque show that is playing at the MGM Grand, and this features some of the most technically elaborate and stunning stage effects ever seen in a Cirque production - and it includes a storyline! Tickets are priced at $99, $125 and $150 but there are great views to have from all over the theatre; so the $99 seats are recommended. Booking for KA opens EXACTLY four months in advance. Book the tickets via the link on the MGM website or directly from the Cirque du Soleil site. By knowing this, you can be the very first to book tickets for your chosen show and take full advantage of the best seats offered
- Zumanity is the "sexy" Cirque show, playing at the New York, New York Hotel. Definitely not for the kids nor the mild of heart. Stil, unique and entertaining.
- Mystere, another Cirque du Soleil show, playing at Treasure Island (TI), is also one of a kind. This show is a combination of comedic moments as well as high flying acrobatic displays. Things happen all around and in front and up high. There are a few thematic features that are salt and peppered throughout the show. The first row does not seem appealing but close to center front seems perfect.
If you are looking for a little magic in Las Vegas, consider the Penn and Teller show at the Rio Hotel. They are world-famous magicians who differ from others by showing the secrets to many of their intricate tricks. They invite audience participation and even stand in the lobby of their namesake theatre after the show for pictures and to answer questions for the departing fans. Since they sometimes have prior television engagements, there are occasional blackout dates. Be sure to check on the official Vegas or Rio Hotel website for ticket availablitity.
For TRUE performing arts, the Nevada Ballet Theatre performs regularly on the UNLV campus. The season runs from September - May. You can check out their schedule at
