The Casino at Green Valley Ranch Resortis about a 15 minute drive from the strip.  It's right off 215 (Green Valley Rd exit), and might be worth stopping by on the way to or from Lake Meade.  There's a Whole Foods on Green Valley Rd across from the complex.  The Hotel boasts several eateries including a 24-hour coffee shop, an authentic Irish Pub, Hank's Steak House, Tides Oyster Bar, a Terra Verde Italian Bistro, a Turf Grill for burgers and other comfort food type items, an Original Pancake House, a Sushi & Saki Bar, *plus* a small food court off the casino floor (with Panda Express and other outlets) and the obligatory Giant Buffet.

The casino itself is clean and uncrowded but a little on the dark side. Plenty of types of slot machines (both old reel type and new electronic types), tables, etc. Cocktail service is good. There is a separate nonsmoking gaming area. The casino's air circulation is good and the room doesn't tend to get smokey.

One of the few "luxury" hotels where one can easily  park a boat and trailer in the indoor parking lot; it's roomy enough to make the turns and is relatively secure. Because it's SW of the city away from the strip, it allows one to avoid the worst rush hour traffic, too.

The hotel also has a movie theatre on the lower level. In addition, it adjoins an outdoor mall, The District, featuring such stores asCoach, Coldwater Creek, Williams-Sonoma and others, so there's more to do here than merely gamble.

The outdoor pool area is luxurious, with private cabanas etc.
