If you're solo in vegas for a couple of days/weeks, consider the following:

1. bring a generous-enough bankroll to enjoy the ennui, but light-enough to pay your monthly bills in case you go belly up.

2. while gambling, enjoy the free drinks.  remember, they're on the house, and if you ask for a spirit by name, you'll usually get it.

3. sleep and exercise are free, so do take a break from gambling every once and awhile.

4. enjoy the winnings when they happen, and they do happen.

5. if you love food, by all means sample and savor some of the best restaurants you'll experience in your life.

6. trust your instincts if a one-night-stand might happen.  people are flirtatious in vegas, but also looking out for #1.

7. best way to experience the nightlife is with a vip host or hostess.  walk right by the lines at primetime, and enter alice's wonderland.

8. the better the hotel/casino, the less likely you are to be noticed, but the more likely there are to be celebrities and other "beautiful people".

9. refrain from wearing expensive jewelry, and if you win a jackpot, ask security to escort you to the cashier and also to your room.
