First time visitors to Las Vegas often wonder where to stay and get the best value for their money.
First, people generally assume that they need to book as early as possible to guarantee a room. While this may be true if you plan to stay on New Year's Eve, this may not be the case during other times. With the exception of the end of December, you can find the best deal for your money by waiting until the time gets closer to your scheduled arrival date. They usually start out high, then come down. They also begin to add some benefits on the side, such as match play, free spa passes, food vouchers, etc. This can happen even in the four-star hotels.
Second, if you did book early, continue to check their online rates to see if they have come down. If they have come down, you can renegotiate your rate with the hotel. For example, if you were scheduled to stay at one hotel for $89 a night, and you later find a published rate that is around $59, the hotel will refund the difference.
Third, by all means, get on their e-mail list and have them regularly send you specials that may only be available through their e-mail correspondence.
Lastly, if you are a players club member, call or email the hotel to see if you are eligible for any special rates or discounts. You could qualify for a comped or discounted room and not even know it!
