Many people who visit the Cotswolds region make shopping a part of their trip.  The town of Cheltenham in the Cotswolds is the home of the famous clothing and home designer Laura Ashley whose shop there is a favorite stop for tourists.  Other towns in the region such as Moreton-on-Marsh and Cirencester are known for their open air farmers' and flea markets.  Other items popularly for sale in the Cotswolds are antiques; it is one of England's premier antiquing regions, as well as hand-made arts and crafts items such as jewelry and and hats.

The Cotswolds' Tourist Board website has a shopping page which will be very helpful to those wanting to do some shopping in the region.  The page gives a general overview of the area's towns and their shopping options as well as a searchable directory of stores in the region.  Shops can be searched for by categories:  gifts, art & crafts, or antiques, or you can view all the categories at once to find shops that may interest you.
