Despina and her sidekick - Katerina (who looks like Penelope Cruz!) ensure every little detail is thought of at this hotel. They were constantly one step ahead of us, knowing what we wanted and having lots of helpful tips about the island. So happy to help, and always making sure we were comfortable. These apartments have every detail covered and Despina ensures the relaxed atmosphere is maintained through every area. The pool area is kept spotlessly clean, as well as the rooms - spotless. They are lovely hosts with a great sense of humour who also give you enough space to enjoy their home.
There is an amazing view from the pool area, we could hardly tear ourselves away to explore the rest of the island! Santorini is a beautiful island and I think no trip to Greece is complete without going there! Don't miss Lucky's gyros at 2 euros! it's delicious. And Nikolas - such a cheap restaurant with lovely old Greek waitors and fantastic food. Ioa is also well worth a visit, even though its expensive, its gorgeous to walk around.
Location of hotel is half way between the two towns, so you need to catch buses, which can be tiresome. However we did have the option of hiring a car, and for those of you brave enough on those narrow roads, it might be the way to go. There is a walking track, which is a gorgeous walk along the cliff, but I don't think i'd do that more than once as its quite a walk.
We celebrated a birthday here and was surprised by Despina with a little gift at breakfast. I won't say what it was, in case she decides not to continue the tradition. But she's very thoughtful and really made our holiday special. Can't wait to return!!
