Our first impressions were Wow!!! The view from the hotel rooms are stunning, looking out across the bay. We asked for a top floor room and we were very pleased. The room had a separate bedroom, large wardrobe and a safe, the separate lounge had a comfortable settee, tv, and behind folding doors, a fridge, crockery and cutlery, and you can hire a kettle from reception. There is a shower room with toilet and the most amazing jaccuzi that is situated between the shower room and lounge, so you can soak away with a gin and tonic looking out over the bay, bliss!!! My husband is a fussy eater, but no need to worry, there is plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner, try the quiche for breakfast, it's yummy. A good choice for dinner with at least 5 different meats, and the chick pea soup is lovely. We visited the Spanish square several evening, about 5 mins walk, where there was nightly entertainment, but it does get rather noisy, so we visited the irish bar across the road, with live irish music, great!! The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we broke the safe one day and reception had someone to our room within 10 mins to repair it. We will be returning to the Jardin Del Sol for sure.

Me and my partner stayed at the Jardin Del Sol Suites in Santa Ponsa between 19th June and 3rd July 2007 on Half Board. All we can say is WOW!!! What a great hotel!

Upon arrival, you enter a nice reception area on the 8th floor which is the top floor of the hotel. I have to echo the comments made by other reviewers by stating that the views over the bay from this hotel are stunning! You have to see it to believe it!

We requested a Senior Suite for this hotel and stayed on the 8th floor. Upon entering the hotel room we were impressed by the size. Our suite had a separate bedroom upon entering the room with 2 single beds pushed together. There was a large wardrobe area to store our clothes and a digital safe which you could rent for around £13 euros a week.

Next was the bathroom area with an impressively large jacuzzi. You could lay in the jacuzzi and gaze out over Santa Ponsa Bay as it's positioned centrally in the room...perfect! The bathroom area had a large shower area too.

The main living area had a small kitchenette, table and 2 chairs, a separate desk and chair, sofa/bed, digital TV and coffee table.

However, our favourite area was the large L-shaped balcony we had. As i've stated already, the views from this hotel are stunning and you couldn't help but just stand or sit outside and be mesmerised. Incidentally, all hotel rooms have bay views. Looking out over the bay you'll see some fab boats and yachts. To your left is Santa Ponsa Beach (15 min walk from the hotel)

The swimming pool area is very nice with a large pool and outdoor jacuzzi. There are numerous comfortable sun loungers to use but be aware that a lot of these had towels on them early in the morning without anyone using them. Unfortunately, there are still selfish people out there! Bathing towels could be gained from Reception by leaving a 10 euro per towel deposit.

There's a pool bar for refreshments too. If you want to cool off in the Med, access is quite easy from some rocks leading down into the sea from different points.

The restaurant in the hotel is large and has a great selection of food to keep your stomach content. The staff in the restaurant (and overall hotel) are fantastic! Very attentive, friendly and efficient. Try to get a table outside so you can look out over the bay as you eat.

In summary, we highly recommend this hotel and will be going back next year. Please note that children under the age of 14 are not permitted.

Enjoy!

“A relaxing week at the Jardin del Sol”

My partner and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Jardin del Sol Suites and Spa. All the rooms have amazing views over Santa Ponsa bay.
We were lucky and stayed in a Terrace Suite on the 5th floor. The suite was fantastic, although the lighting could have been better. It had a separate bedroom with twin beds, then a room with a toilet and a large shower cubicle with 4 side power jets, as well as an overhead one. Next to that was an 'open plan' bathroom with a huge jacuzzi which was great, especially after a day in the sun. There was also a small dining area and kitchenette with fridge, cooker and sink but only a limited supply of utensils. Next to that was a large seating area where you could sit and watch TV, which surprisingly had about 6 or 7 English speaking channels on it.
The terrace had 2 sunbeds with a small table and also a larger table with 2 chairs. There was also a shower for cooling you down when it got too hot. The sunbeds on the terrace were much comfier than the one's by the pool because they had thick cushions but the beds by the pool didn't have any.
Unfortunately, if you wanted a sunbed by the pool you had to be up early to reserve them with your towels. Sometimes there wasn't a bed available so we sunbathed on our terrace and then went down to the pool later in the afternoon. The pool itself is brilliant because it is heated slightly so it takes away that initial shock when getting into the water.
The food on the whole was pretty good but a bit repetitive. Every night there was pasta and rice but no roast joints such as beef or turkey although there were grilled meats.
The entertainment in the hotel was only occasional. One night there was a Tina Turner impersonator on and she was quite good but most nights we went to the square (which is only about a 5 minute walk) and there was a different live tribute act on there each night in the open air.
Not far from the square there is an Irish bar called The Auld Triangle which had a good singer/guitar player on every night who performed a wide variety of music. If you like Irish bars there are plenty of them about as well as English, Scottish and of course Spanish ones.
There is no beach by the hotel but there is a small one about 15 minutes walk away or the main one is about 20 minutes walk.
Overall we had a good relaxing week and would highly recommend the Jardin del Sol.

“Great views”

Iberostar Suites Hotel Jardin del Sol

Just back from a week at the hotel Jardin Del Sol and hardly left the hotel grounds! Great rooms all with sea view and huge jacuzzi bath in the room (not in the bathroom!). If you are lucky enough to get a 5th floor you'll get a huge terrace with own sunbeds. Other rooms have a nice balcony.
Great location - on the sea but rocky, not beach. Lovely pool area. The resort beach about 10 mins walk away.

Buffet meals were very good quality and lots of choice every day, if a bit repetitive after a while. Try to get a table outside!
Nice bar by the pool, ask for local drinks and they are not expensive. Maid service excellent, rooms very clean. Can be a little bit noisy due to tiled floors so take earplugs!

The hotel is on the edge of Santa Ponsa. The resort is pretty tacky, all tourist shops, all-day breakfasts and Irish bars but it depends what you are looking for. A great chill-out location.

The view from all of the rooms was unbelievable!
The hotel is located at the top of quite a hill, but found a great route from the beach in the centre of the resort via the rocks and then discreetly used the lift in the hotel next to ours which brought you to street level.
Excellent food and choice even though to obtain toast you had to feed the bread through at least 4 times.
Staff very courteous, room cleaned daily, lifts very unreliable, in fact in four day period got stuck twice.
Mainly Germans in the hotel, very few British.
Cycling club run from Hotel so we didn't have a problem with obtaining sunbeds as cyclist out during the day.
Pool area immaculate. Obtained bucket of ice each evening from the pool bar to take back to our room. Great!
