May 14 - May 22 We went to Vegas for our wedding, with my family. Parents were on 5th floor, we were on 7th. We had a prime room as it faced directly down Fremont. We could see the sound and light show right from our balcony. The room was huge, but the tv was small and only about 6 channels. Maid service was slow, usually the room wasn't cleaned any earlier than 1 pm. My biggest complaint is the water! Day before wedding, we had no hot water. I chalked it up to just my timing, thought everyone was showering when I did. The next morning, day of my wedding, not a drop of hot water. It was lukewarm when I jumped in the shower at 7:30 am. I got the shampoo on my head and all of a sudden the water was ice cold. It was so cold I couldn't stand it, so I jumped out and rinsed my hair in the sink...water freezing there too. I called the front desk and explained the problem and that it was my wedding day...I need a shower!!! They sent maintenance up within 30 minutes. He is calling for help and it appears both the water heater and our shower has issues. Says he need time to work on it. I explain it's my wedding day and will need a shower by noon. No problem. We went to Sam's Town to give him room to work. Got back to the hotel at 11:50 to find a note on the bed saying he couldn't get it fixed, we will have to switch rooms. Not to mention he left the floor and tub filthy from working. Ummmm I have a 1:00 hair appointment for myself and bridal party, won't be back till 5 and my wedding is at 6. I take an ice cold shower quickly to get to our appointment. On my way out, I stop at front desk, show them the note, and let them know this is not acceptable or possible! They tell me to pack up my room and they will have a bell hop move us. I'm gettin married in 4 hours....when do I have time to pack everything!!!???? She said well what do you want me to do?? Fix the shower!! They never apologized, never offered to comp us, nothing. Other than that, everything was fine, but that was a big issue in my eyes.

We stayed here on 5/14/2005. Came by shuttle, 1 hour from landing to Hotel, not bad. And it was $6 per person. When we checked-in at around 3:30pm there was no waitting. Asked for and received a view of Fremont Street from the 6 floor. All the staff was friendly and helpful. There was no problem with the room and the beds were very comfortable. After reading some review, I was a little worried, but we didn't run into any of the problems list and we did eat there Saturday Night. Maybe with the change in managment, things have changed. Loved Fremont street and will definitely stay here again.

We were scheduled for 2 nights, but left after only one. The room was semi-clean,i.e. mildew in bathroom, smells in the room, etc. One of the beds had only a box spring and no mattress. The food at the buffet gave me food poisoning and my wife is covered in some type of bug bites that defy description. The look like flea bites only much larger, about the size of a dime. When we decided to leave and forfeit the 2nd night ,I informed the desk clerk that I was unhappy and was leaving. I asked if there was a customer complaint form and was told , just write something on a piece of paper and we'll put it on the board for some to read.

This was my 10th trip to Vegas and the Plaza is the 14th different Vegas property I have stayed in. This was the second time I have stayed downtown. I was in the North tower on the 17th floor with a view straight down Fremont Street. I requested the view prior to my arrival and was surprised when my request was granted with repromptin at check in! The view was great. The room was clean and found it to be excellent value for money. Being on the 17th floor, I was still surprise by the noise from the Fremont St Expreience and the general traffic, however for US$39 a night I did not really care. It was not too noisy after misdnight, and hey, I was in Vegas. Also, this is not the Bellagio or Wynn's.
The pool was quite good but I recommend that you take your own pool towel. the towels they provide poolside are as effective and as thikc as a paper towel!!
I had the buffet breakfast and got a $2 discount after I joined their players club (breakfast ends up $3.95 plus tax!!). breakfast was brilliant. I had the buffet for dinner as well and would say that it would have to have been the WORST EVER buffet experience I have had. The choice was uninspiring and quality was questionable. Surely the chef should know that you do not store deserts under a light. The black forest cake was as dry as Death Valley!!! Never ate the dinner buffet again at the Plaza.

We stayed here on April 23, and 24, . Will never stay here again. From the moment we checked in things went bad. Had a reservation for a two bedroom suite, it wasnt available when we arrived. they had to put us in to seperate rooms on different floors, this is not good if you are traveling with children. I was reassured my suite would be ready the next morning, well at 6:00PM the next night we still did not have our suite. We had been given the keys to another room that was still occupied, the guests belongings were throuout the room when we entered. My wife locked her purse in the room and it took one hour for security to get back with us so she colud get her purse. Sunday at abpout 7:00PM we got the keys to the suite we had paid for , too bad we were leaving in the morning. Didnt even get an apology, just two coupons for a couple of drinks. Every effort to contact the management has been ignored.
