We purchased tickets to see "The Rat Pack is Back". I bought VIP tickets. I got all dressed up. However, when we were seated, the head waiter told us that for 40.00 more we could have a table by ourselves. I figured he did not realize we already had VIP tickets. But when we were escorted to our "table" we were sitting elbow to elbow with twelve other people at cafeteria tables up against the speakers. I was really looking forward to this show so I eventually asked by husband to please pay the extra forty dollars so I could have a nice table by ourselves. This marred the perfect evening we had had up until this time. I will not go to a show or stay at your hotel. I will not recommend it to my family or friends. I am very disappointed in your "service".

I found the reviews very helpful so I wanted to put my 2 cents in. We stayed at the Plaza in downtown Las Vegas. I was kind of skeptical about getting a room so cheap for each night. My thoughts were - what exactly am I getting for that cheap rate? I know that when you are in Vegas, you are not there to hang out in your room, so really - how much time was I actually going to spend in my room? If I do my Vegas trip the correct way - not much time at all!!!! I already knew the location and it was exactly what I wanted. The rooms ended up being very clean and presentable. We stayed in the older part of the hotel, but the rooms were not outdated. We had good water pressure and we had hot water at all times. (I have stayed other places with neither so this was a positive thing for me). All the staff at the hotel and casino was very friendly. There was a buffet downstairs, with other eating places very accessible. I would stay there again without blinking an eye. We were very pleased with The Plaza.

This place is falling apart. We stayed with a very large group and only two of the six elevators were working. People were forced to drag their luggage down stairwells just to get out of that place. This poor hotel is very weathered. The rooms were ok, but I wish I had brought flipflops for the shower. I felt very unsafe downstairs in the foodcourt. There were several transients roaming around and talking to themselves. My daughter was very scared and asked to go back to the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Sorry, Plaza, but its time for demolition or remodeling! Don't waste your money here!

Stayed at The Plaza for 8 nights. Had room 1556 in the south tower. The elevators were fast and never had a problem getting one. The room was clean and wasn't bad for $30 a night. Was great to be able to walk out of the front door of this hotel and watch the Fremont Experience. The only problems were that the maid didn't get to the room until around 3pm and the air conditioner was very noisy. All in all, The Plaza was a good place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

we stayed at the Plaza for 2 nights. We got a great deal on the web and requested a non-smoking room. when we arrived we were told that there were no non-smoking rooms available in our catagory - but for extra we can upgrade. Well, no way the hotel was full but anyway we upgraded to a mini-suite. It was very large on the 14th floor. Overall clean, but everything old and run-down. Great view over the strip! Our room was in the South Tower so you had to walk through the casino part to get to the hotel. The casino and basically the whole hotel smells like decades of tobacco and smoking - not nice!
Location good, right on Fremont street. Bus service to the strip for $7 return, but we had a rental car so we were able to drive to the strip. You can basically park for free at any of the big hotels in the strip.
The elevators are a problem - wait for ages.
The parking at the hotel is either valet or for $5 but they do refund if you gamble at their casino (which we didin't!)
