We stayed at the Plaza from July 20-24th 2008. We got an EXTREMELY good bargain!

The check-in was easy, right when you walk through the front door. There are 20 floors and we stayed on the 19th. We never had any problems with the elevators. Our room was average...not much different than what you'd expect for the price you're paying. It was pretty outdated and could have benefited from an updated, but it was fine for us. We had two full beds, a tv, small table and chairs and a dresser for furniture. The bathroom area was really cool I thought. The bathroom itself was just a small room with a tub and a toilet. Off the bathroom was a vanity closet area in which you could get ready. We didn't have any problems with the beds being uncomfortable or anything although the pillows sucked. Just cheap pillows, but again for what you are paying, not a big deal.

The casino was just like the rest of them. Nothing crazy about it. A few bars, a sport's book, machines, etc. The 777 buffet was extremely good in my opinion and a hell of a deal for $7.77! There was also a McDonald's, Subway, etc. on site for a little variety.

There were some questionable characters at the bar in the Plaza later at night. I seen some sleezy women (assumably prostitutes) strolling throught the casino, back and forth scouting it out. Also seen the EXACT same wome later the next day on Fremont street dressed in the EXACT same clothing.

The only ODD thing that happened while we stayed at the Plaza was that on the 23rd, I was sitting on the bed in our room and my husband was downstairs doing something and the power went out for about a half minute in the room. Hubby said it didn't go out downstairs. Well, later that day, we were both downstairs getting some chow and the power went out AGAIN! But this time it was out for about a half an hour!!! I could not believe it, it was just bazaar! I've never been at a hotel that lost power. The maintenence people were scurrying around talking about taking the stairs to the roof and if finally came back on. When it did, I felt pretty fortunate to be in the lobby at the time and not on the elevators because a bunch of people were stuck on the elevators the entire time. It was an experience, but nothing that would make me think twice about staying there again. These things happen.

The Plaza is in a GREAT location. It's right at the very end of Fremont Street. You can walk all the way down to the other end of the canopy and the Deuce picks you up there if you want to ride to the strip. Cab fare FROM the airport to the Plaza was $35. Fare TO the airport from the Plaza was about $42.
All in all, I really enjoyed our stay at the Plaza.

If you are expecting the Hilton at $30 a night, you won't get it. Go to the Hilton and pay $200 a night and you'll get it.

well we arrvied after booking through "Dial a flight."

What a complete nightmare met us.

The reception team were great as long as it was female.THE MALES CANNOT BE [--] WITH YOU AT ALL !!!!!

We were given a room which hadnt been dusted or hoovered in many months and the toilet didnt work.
Went back to complain and didnt get an apology, just given another room numer./ As we travled from London and took about 24 hrs, we were very tired.
Got to the new room and it wasnt cleaned from the previous people and were fag buts, (AND WHAT LOOKED LIKE) drugs and many other things on the floor.
Went back to complain, after me crying and looking for another hotel on strip, they moved us to a delux room, (STILL NO APOLOGY) although sold as a suite. (we later found this to be a untrue)
We didnt eat there at all as werent really interested and just wanted somewhere to sleep.
In all honesty, wont stay there again, through lack of Customer Services and too far away from the strip.

This was a girls only family trip. Nine of us in all. We stayed for four nights. The casino itself for pretty good. The rooms were not the best but you get what you pay for. We booked through Worry Free Vacations and chose the cheapest hotel because we came to play and all knew that spending time in the room was not a priority. Even though It could have been better. The carpet was nasty so we didn't walk around bare foot. They don't have coffeemakers or room service. The hotel could use a lot of work. I had been to Vegas several times but stayed on the Strip. This was my first time staying on Fremont Street. I absolutely loved it! Everything you need is right there and there is a party on the street every night. I actually felt safer walking Fremont than the strip. Security is everywhere. If you do want to check out the strip it is only about a $15 cab fare away. My sister, our girlfriend and our hubby's are making another trip in October and staying on Fremont. We are stay at the 4 Queens this trip. Read several of the reviews and most seem promising. Like I said, spending time in the room is not our priority.

“RUDE STAFF AND OUTDATED, SMELLY ROOM”

Plaza Hotel & Casino

My second trip to Las Vegas and this time wanted to see downtown so we booked at the Plaza. After checking in with a rude, unprofessional staff person who never smiled and gave us dirty looks, I should have known it was going to only go down hill from there. When we got to our room we found a hole in the wall near the bathroom, stains on the carpet and the toilet was running and would not stop. After spending the whole day out, I really dreaded going back to our room. The only good thing about staying here is it is only walking distance to some really good casinos and an excellent buffet we ate at. Lastly, I should say that when we checked out the staff person who waited on us was very friendly, which was nice as I was afraid we would get the same one who checked us in.
