My husband and I stayed here for our first trip to Vegas from a Wednesday through Saturday. It is very cheap to stay here which we liked. The rooms are definitely older and outdated but we didn't really mind as we were basically only in our room to sleep. We thought the location was pretty good as you could walk to NY NY (which we loved), MGM, the Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. We walked down the strip to the other hotels as well and would take the tram for $5 back to MGM. The pools were alright, they were really crowded but I'd expect that in 105 degree weather! Being from Boston we are very familiar with Dick's Last Resort which is located in the hotel so we ate there a few times. The meals are reasonably priced and they were always giving out tickets for buy one draft get one free! In Vegas, that comes in handy! The breakfast buffet was really good too, but other than that we ate at other places. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, I wouldn't rule it out, just don't expect much. We were so busy trying to fit everything in that we didn't really mind that it was outdated. If you are looking for a resort that has nicer ammenities then you should probably look somewhere else, but if you just want a place to sleep then it's not so bad!

i have recentley been on a 16 night trip to navada and california.my first stay was the excalibur for 3 nights.my 15 year old daughter and myself was doing the holiday.because of this i wanted a family type hotel.i had read in reviews that the excalibur
was family friendly.i had read mixed reviews on trip advisor about
this hotel so i was a bit apprehensive.i need not have been.i found the hotel absolutley fine.the room was clean and ok.the hotel was big like most in vegas but it had a nice feel to it.
the location was excellent .on my last night of the holiday when
we got back to vegas we stopped in the new york new york.this
hotel was fine but given the choice because of my daughter i
would choose the excalibur over the new york new york.

OK hotel for the price...But there are better.
The hotel had a great location...next to the New York New York and the MGM Grand.
Rooms are very old...dated and need a remodeling. Old: bed sheets, carpet, wall paper, furniture, etc.
Lot's of things to do with your family and kids. Has an arcade in the premises.

We stayed at the Excalibur 8-15 to 8-22/ 07. For what we needed, it was good because we were looking for a cheap place to stay while we went out mostly at other casinos. The location really is great because you can easily get to Mandalay Bay and Luxor, but you're also near the MGM stop of the monorail to get up and down the rest of the strip. The gym was actually very nice and we purchased a 3-day pass so we could save $ on individual gym visits. Always plenty of cabs & very quick cab line to get to other casinos. It had everything we needed, but if you're looking for more special amenities, it might not be for you.

To have a good time at the Excalibur, you basically need to be able to have a good sense of humor about things. For instance, only about half of the elevators in Tower 2 (where our room was) worked, so waits for elevators were always long and people began to get frustrated. Also, there was apparently no service elevator, so when an elevator did come, you usually had to share it with luggage/ room service carts. The shower in the room was less than awesome. The casino itself seemed smokier than most others. If you don't want to hear music at 8 in the morning, get a room at a high floor, and not facing the pool. There are a lot of families and college kids staying there, which didn't bother us at all, but might not work for some people.

Our biggest disappointment was the pool. They were doing construction on part of it, and sort of a bad smell was coming from the construction site. Also, the pool and pool area just didn't seem very clean. We went to the pool only once, though we had hoped to go more, because we just didn't feel like we could enjoy it.

Overall, good for our needs, but people should be aware of what it's like before staying there.

Stayed at Excalibur for 4 days during the week in late March of this year. Room was located on the 28th floor but waits for the elevators were minimal, as one bank does the first 15 floors and the other does the rest. Casino was large and open, and no more difficult to navigate then any other large casino. Drink service was usually rather fast with decent potency for mixed drinks. Service was decent, nothing spectacular but efficient in most cases. Timeshare morons low key compared to some other properties (Luxor for example), but perhaps I just looked to poor to buy one. Nice view up the strip from the room (which we didn't pay for) and it was clean and orderly. Lack of a safe was a small issue to me but nothing was swiped. Overall good value, decent location and casino, but go elsewhere for dining.
