I was excited about the low rate I got for the hotel, but was not too happy when I arrived. I told the front desk it was my honeymoon, and she made no comment. The next question she asked was if I'd be needing two twin beds or one king. I guess she wasn't paying attention to my original statement.

The room was equivelent of a Best Western. It looked decent from the outside, but inside, it was pretty ugly and was in need of a rennovation. I was offered a rennovated room, but they were going to charge me an extra $20 per night, so I declined.

I asked the concierge to book me a specific restaurant, and she said, "There's a pay phone over there." Um, what? The service was terrible.
Excalibur's casino was smoky and bleak. The only good thing about the hotel was it's location - right on the strip.

Stayed at the Excalibur with some family, it's as good a place as any if travelling with children in Vegas. This town is not family friendly but then they don't really claim to be either. We had a good time at the hotel, the front desk staff was efficient. Our only one problem was a gross one, however, apparently whoever had our room before us had vomited in the sink and it had not been properly cleaned up. We didn't notice it on arrival but the next morning, we awoke to find someone elses days old vomit had backed up in our sink and in my sister's room next door. Needless to say it was disgusting. At least the hotel was speedy in rectifying the problem. If it had not been for this, this hotel would have been an exceptional value at $60 bucks a night.

“perfect location, great price, yet boring & quiet dominated”

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

5 guys going from Maine to Vegas for a Thursday - Monday party extravaganza! Sound like fun? Well it was.

We are all over 35 so we are all plenty mature, looking for fun, but not to be a bunch of 21 year old, throw up every night, hellions and the Excalibur was a perfect fit for us.

If you are looking for a quiet nights sleep with a boring feel, this is the place.

Great for bringing kids, yet I am guessing that they have a ton of families when the kids are on vacation. We were there from March 1st-5th so no kids to be seen. Could be a bad choice if it gets nuts with kids, and you have none or are in Vegas to get away from the ones you have.

The Excalibur was one of the lowest priced on that end of the strip. Only Circus Circus, Sahara and The Stratosphere were lower, and just by a tiny bit.

But if you want to Party Vegas style, and don't want to spend time or money at jut the one hotel you stay at, this is a great choice.

With New York, MGM, Tropicana, Hooters, Luxor and Mandalay Bay all within easy short (5 min or less) walks, this is great if you don't plan to have a car during your stay.

We hoofed it all the way to Caesar's one night, and it wasn't bad.

The gambling was horrid as 5 of us probably dumped a total of 8 G's into the Excalibur and all went home broke. We didn't have any better luck anywhere else though, so that isn't really a hit on the Excalibur, but Vegas period.

They have a great house run Texas hold'em tourney everyday at 9am and 11am in the poker room. Very well run and the winner will pocket $500+ ( depending on # of players) for only a $35 buy in. That was perfect for us, and a great way to start the day.

The table waitress's outfit is hideous. Great if you don't want your 13 year old kid googling at T&A all day, but not the slightest attractive or appealing for the normal gambling crowd.

Everything I saw form bathrooms to the lobby was clean, neat and the staff was fine. I don't tend to expect much when looking for the cheapest, and got more then that for the price I paid.

If you have high expectations for $50 a night, your are going to the wrong town, and this is CERTAINLY NOT the hotel for you!

The food at the buffet was just fine, nothing to brag about, there are a 100 as good in this city. I thought breakfast on a Friday morning was WAY over priced at $11.80. Did Krisy Kreme the rest of the stay.

They have a newly redone bar called Octane. It looks very cool, and had a nice feel, but I am sure not many are flocking to the Excalibur for the partying!

Bottom line, if you plan to walk the strip to see a lot, and want to save your $$$ for other things this is a quiet nice bed for you to rest your head for the 5-6 hours a night you will sleep.

I have seen the show (Kings Tournament) years ago, and it was great, but we were 20 of us on a family reunion, and that was the perfect show for us. There are 30 better shows on the strip if you want to see the best, but you won't waste your money if you go to see this one.

i don't understand people complaining so much about this place. you get what you pay for. yes, its cheap and cheerful - just like the prices! my partner and i stayed here for a week last September and enjoyed it just fine, although i must admit that we didn't eat there (apart from getting coffee and donuts!) so i can't rate the restaurants. we just wanted a cheap place to stay, on the strip, and we got all we could ask for. the room was clean, the bed comfy, the bathroom well stocked and thoroughly cleaned every day by our friendly maids.

if you're going to be out and about, eating and drinking at other places each night etc, then this place is just fine!!!

The exterior of Excalibur is great. It is fun unique and great for taking pictures. The inside is not at all as impressive as the outside. The decor consists of just cheesy swords, sheilds, and dragons placed here and there. I wasn't that impressed. The hotel rooms are ok. Nothing special. They are pretty clean, a little dark. More lighting would be good. The bathrooms are a good size and clean. The casino is ok. NY NY and MGM casinos near by are better. The casino workers are friendly and helpful. The drink service is good. The service over all was very good. Stay away from the dessert/coffee stand it is expensive and not good. If you want to save money for breakfast and lunch. I recomend just going to the food court that is just a little bit down the strip from the hotel. It is located next to the M&M store. There are a good amont of resturaunts and shops in the hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze and the staff was very nice. If you are bringing kids on your trip I would say this would probably be a good hotel for them. Its disney like castle theme is fun and it seems to be the most child friendly of all the hotels we went in. If you can get a good deal, this hotel can be a great choice. It's far from luxerious, but it offers just about everything you need and the service makes up for a lot of the under par accomadations. I probably will go back sometime to this hotel.. but next time I am staying at another one
