My family and I stayed at the Excalibur from June 23, 2006 to June 26, 2006. It was a good deal. I took my sister 57 years old and a 21, 18 and 15 year old. All enjoyed the Hotel. It was clean and the staff was nice. I had read many weeks of the previous reviews and was prepared for some things that might otherwise have upset me. I stayed on the 18th floor of tower 1. The view was very nice, especially at night. The bar soap was very small but I was prepared and had brought bar soap from home. The teenagers ate at the fast food places in the hotel (their choice) my sister and I ate at the buffet. I enjoyed the buffet. I have been to many buffets in Vegas and it was good choices for the money. I was also not as crowded as the other buffets I had attended on previous stays in Las Vegas. I bought the power pass which was a good deal. We did everything we wanted to from the power pass in one day. I purchased it at the stratophere on the second floor. The power pass can be purchased for 1 day up to 5 days. It has many attractions that are included for the price of $62.00 per person. My sister is a Trekkie so she was very happy with the Star Trek Experience. The Teens enjoyed it all. They were especially happy with Madame Tussades. I was surprised the family was not more impressed with the forum shops in Caesars but they thought it just so/so. I was just blown away the first time I saw it. I had took them there to experience a 4D ride that used to be there but apparently "The Race to Save Atlantis" has been discontinued. I was not happy with the transportation. We used the trolley, It is $2.00 or $5.00 for a whole day pass. But it stops at every hotel. The last time I was in Vegas about 6 years ago it was free. The seats are uncomfortable. We also bought daily passes for the duece bus. It is supposed to run every 7 minutes. But actually waited about 40 minutes to go back to the hotel on one ocassion. The bus is also very crowded. (I personally liked the old bus system better). I also noted that there would be 2 buses coming at the same time. Several time when we were pressed for time I would just get a cab. But continuously hopping in cabs is expensive. I also wanted to mention that the new "Sirens of Ti" outdoor show is just silly. The old pirate show was much better. I didn't bring little children but I don't think it was appropriate for them. (They were many, many children in the audience though.

This was the first hotel we stayed in on our road trip through South West USA, and I had absolutely no problems with it. We got bullied into some timeshare thing as soon as we walked in the door, but when we went to cancel and get our deposits back we had no hassle. My husband's bag didn't make it off the flight, but they rang as soon as it arrived as they promised they would. The room was on the 5th floor of Tower II and it was clean and quiet. It wasn't as glamourous as some of the other casinos, but for the price you pay it was fine, and the location is great, right next to New York New York and MGM Grand so to tell the truth we didn't spend much time in the hotel's casino as the others were nicer. There was plenty of room in the pool area during the day, although the kids would drive you mad. All in all, I wouldn't have a problem staying here again.

I am a regular Luxor, NY-NY visitor but had to stay at the Exaclibur for a night due to everything being sold out for the De La Hoya fight. I was worried due to the decor of Excalibur and my OCD. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was okay, rustic furniture but in good shape. Bathrooms large, clean, didn't show much age. I thought I would have to count all night to calm myself down but was fine. Bed was very comfortable. Make sure blinds are closed all the way because that LV sun is BRIGHT in the morning. Played video Blackjack downstairs...chairs were stained and machine area dirty. Pool was fabulous. Tough to find a chair mid morning, but pool was nice, plenty of towels, pool service fairly quick.

In a pinch....best inexpensive place on the strip.

I almost cancelled my reservations at this hotel based off of some of the reviews on this site. I am so glad I did not. Not only did we get a great rate, but after noticing the rates had been lowered I called and asked for the new rate, which was applied to my room. I stayed three nights at the Excalibur and could not have been happier with our stay. I traveled with family members and we requested and received adjoining rooms. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was the biggest one I have ever seen and the water pressure was awesome. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with our room.

The reviews on this site lead you to believe you will find a run down hotel. I did not feel this was the case at all. It is themed like a castle and that is exactly what it looks like. I spent time gambling in the casino and did find it to be smoky in places, but no more than any other hotel we walked through. I wish something would be done about this issue overall. I don't feel I should have to breathe second hand smoke and it should be banned in all public places including casinos. We enjoyed the fast food restaurant choices on the second level of the hotel (especially Krispy Kremes). The prices in Las Vegas are high and so it was a nice change to be able to find a cheap meal.

We also spent a great deal of time in the arcade/carnival portion of the hotel for children. We had three children with us and they enjoyed the time spent. My only complaint of this hotel is here. Many of the machines were either broken down or ate our money. The children still had fun here. Once again smoking was allowed even on this level and they even provided ashtrays on this level, yuck!

The early registration was great and the walkways to Luxor and Mandalay Bay were great. We were able to cross the street to get onto the Deuce Bus and used that the entire time we were there to travel up and down the strip. It is a convient walk to the New York from the bridge at the Excalibur. If you want a great value don't hesitate to stay here.

We stayed here in June 2006 for our honeymoon and it was absolutely awful! We stayed in a jacuzzi suite and the first room we were in, the jacuzzi was broken so maintenance had to come up the first night and fix it. Then we came home one night to the smell of raw sewage in our room. We were moved to another room where the jacuzzi didn't hold water, the sink in the bathroom dripped and there was no water pressure. It was an awful experience. When we complained about it, the hotel staff was less than accomodating! I would absolutely without a doubt stay away from this hotel!!!
