I stayed at this hotel in March this year for 7 days with my son and brother. After rejecting the first room given on the ground floor, we were given a room with a safe in it, but had to pay an extra 20 dollars per night, but it was worth it for peace of mind.

The excalibur is a very busy and noisy hotel with lots going on. The buffet was good value and the food was edible with plenty of choice.

The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. I would say for a few dollars more you can get a much better room on the strip, however, we were not disappointed with our choice.

We used the monorail, but found the convenience of the 'deuce' better value to get around. There is so much to do, the time flies.

I am not a gambler, but even I struggled to do everything that I wanted to do in the week I was there.

This was my second visit to vegas and I love it. The first time I stayed off strip at the Gold Coast which was fabulous and such good value for money. I am planning to go back again, but will probably stay off strip as it is a bit better value for money and a bit quieter and there are free shuttle buses back and forward to the strip.

I work in a luxury New York hotel and was a bit scared to book this hotel, however our stay was great. We tipped the front desk agent and were upgraded to a Tower II room which was clean, nice, w/ a big plasma tv and a great view of the pool. There isnt a night club here, but you can easily walf to any number of hotels including the MGM or Luxor. The pool area was great and I was happy to have an adult only section.

I went to Las Vegas July 6-10 to attend a conference at Mandalay Bay. Since I was traveling solo, I decided to save some money on the room and stay at the Excalibur. I was in the remodeled Tower II. The room had ordinary hotel decor with large flat screen TV. The bed was very comfortable and the nonsmoking room was really nonsmoking. Overall, the room was adequate and a good value. The casino had $5 tables and craps, unlike the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. The casino was smoky and needs a facelift (carpet did look clean). I took the free tram or the people mover every day to Mandalay Bay for the conference. I ate in both the cafe at the Excalibur and at the Luxor for breakfast; the Luxor was best. The Luxor also has a good buffet. Overall, the Excalibur was convenient and a good value.

They charged me an extra $5 a night for a "resort fee" saying it is mandatory to offer the services that they do. I thought that was what the price was for. My stay was only $29, so $5 increased the price by about 18%. Also, it is the principle of the thing. Hotel managers listen up. If you are going to charge something automatically to each room, then it is not fair to exclude that charge from the advertised price.

I should also mention that there was over a half hour wait to check in, the staff was not friendly, and it was over a city block from my car to the elevator that took me to my floor. The only this place has going for it is location, but there are better hotels nearby.
