Seven friends and I stayed at the Excalibur for three nights in early April for my bachelor party. This casino is a great value for people looking for a place to stay that is not too pricey, yet still gives you a taste of the Las Vegas strip in all its glory. It's location at the center of the north end of the strip provides a good homebase for journeys out to MGM, New York New York, Mandalay and others. The rooms were clean and service was above average. Since we were partying pretty hard for my bachelor party, we worried that security might be a problem. But we were pretty much left alone to have a good time. We were concerned originally that this would be a "kiddie hotel" with all of the medieval kitsch, but found that it provided a good balance for both kids and adults. The pool was large and the water slides were great. The biggest problem is that the casino is smokey. The buffet was average, contrary to the awful reviews I had previously read online. Stay at the Excalibur if you are looking for a decent strip hotel at an affordable price.

This is one place I will never stay at again. When I got to the Hotel at about 12:30 A.M., the front desk said that they did not have a non-smoking room available. They then asked me if i would take a smoking room. After saying yes, suddenly a non-smoking room that was just cleaned popped up. After saying I would take this room. I went up to it. To start with, a towel was hanging over the shower curtain rod, the trash had not been emptied, soap was still in the soap dish (used), and the bed had a corner turned as if someone was getting ready to go to bed. When I woke up the next morning, I found a bug crawling away with what looked like blood in it. I killed this bug then tore the bed apart and found another and killed that one also. I called the front desk and asked for another room. They provided one with out the bedbugs, and said they would call Ecolab. (Pest Control). They did not offer any compensation of any type or even an apology.

My husband and i stayed at the excalibur in feb 2005, we loved it easy check in no lines, room was average compared to others i have seen on the strip but who really stays in their room, however it was a pretty big room, we ordered room service one night a little on the expensive side but food was great and the portions were pretty big. room was clean. we got late check-out at 6:00 pm for an extra $40 was worth it seeing our flight left at 9:30 pm. check out was easy nolines there either and they had kiosk check in/out if you preferred. Overall a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay and really loved the 1 cent slots. We lost a little money but we were prepared for that before we arrived. The Hotel itself was really an outstanding design. Everything was within minutes reach, including the neighboring Hotels and the scenes downtown. We rode the bus to the heart of town and back. We saw the Dancing water show and many other sights. The room service is exceptionally well thought out and the visitor is made welcome. We will be back again, maybe next year. We live in Germany and have many of the niceties we had in Las Vegas but the charm is much different.
