We spent five nights at the Excalibur, this was my second trip to Vegas (stayed at the MGM last time). The room was a decent size, with everything you could reasonably want in it. The staff were always good-humoured and helpful, and the whole place had a bit of character about it which helped set us at ease. Good location - very close to NYNY, MGM, Monte Carlo, Luxor and Mandalay Bay, and from these you can take the monorail or trams down to the other end of the strip. Though even Treasure Island and Wynn (right down the far end) are reasonably within walking distance anyhow.

The hotel felt more family-friendly than some hotels on the strip, though don't think that means it's swarming with kids running round your ankles - it isn't.

The only thing that stops it getting five stars was that the room we were given on arrival hadn't been properly cleaned, but one call down to the front desk saw us moved to another room right away.

I stayed at the Excalibur for 4 nights and had a fabulous time!

I was in Vegas with my sister and we shared a room. We both have high standards when it comes to cleanliness and we thought our room at the Excalibur was fantastic. The bathroom was incredibly clean, and the whole room felt fresh. I have seen some reviews where people say their room was damp or musty, but ours was perfect. The housekeeping staff were very pleasant as well.

When we were there one of the 2 pools was closed for cleaning, so the pool area did feel a little crowded. It was difficult to get a lounge chair by the pool if you arrived later than 10:30 or 11am. But we had a great time sitting by the pool, even though there were kids it wasn't too noisy or anything.

The only thing that I did not like about the Excailbur is we had to walk through the casino floor to get to the pool. One of the towers is right at the pool so there is no problem, but the other tower (where we stayed) is across the casino so it is not really good if you are shy and end up in that tower. But we just put our swimsuits on under our shorts and tank tops and it was fine!

I am going back to Vegas for my 4th time this July and probably will stay at the Excalibur again. The location is excellent and the price is reasonable.

“Had a great time on our first visit to Sin City at the Excalibur”

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary by taking a visit to Vegas. We had a wonderful time. We are not big gamblers so the little that we lost at the slots did not dampen our spirits. We stayed at the Excalibur from April 30-May5. The hotel was clean, everyone was friendly and the medieval theme was fun but a little gaudy. The pool area was nice and clean and the spa passes that we got when we checked in let us experience how the rich and famous live. We saw the show "Splash" and took the Hoover Dam tour. The guide on that tour was very informative and knowledgeable about Las Vegas. We checked out all the major hotels on the strip and the Wynn was the most impressive. The Venicetian was beautiful and the fountain show at the Bellagio was worth the wait. Coyote Ugly was fun but the drinks were a bit steep. The only thing I would change about the whole trip would be to outlaw the smut handlers and time share hawkers. They drove me crazy!

“Avoid this turkey”

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

My fiance' and I stayed at this hotel last year and thought it was the worst of the hotels on the strip. Our mattress was saggy, we had a terrible view from our room. The carpet was worn and the furnishings were horrendous. The pool was always crowded and there seemed to be plenty of families with children. Some of the employees were totally rude jerks. We overheard an employee in one of stores mocking someone with an accent who called to her co-workers. This was after hanging up on the person. Although the casino staff was much more pleasant, the casino was by far the smokiest on the strip. And for some reason, it seemed as if more people were crammed into a space in the casino. I would definitely avoid this turkey and stay @ the Luxor next door which is only a few bucks more, but a better upgrade.

“not great”

Good price, not all that clean, we checked in early, wish we hadn't the bathroom looked like an animal had been shaved in it, so of course after it was cleaned I could still see hair everywhere gross.
The casino is more smoke filled than most.
Buffet is not great.

This was our second stay, I think it will be our last.
