“Ok if on a budget”

Booked thru hotel's website and prepaid 2 months in advance, after checking out 1 day before arrival, the price quoted had dropped $35 for the duration of our stay. We couldn't get a refund or comps for the difference.

The hotel is huge and you had to walk thru the casino floor each and everytime you wanted to get anywhere. The hotel food is terrible, we ate lunch at the Roundtable Buffet and it was one of the worst you can waste your money on.

The room was adequate in size as is the bathroom. The beds were old and worn and you felt and heard each and every spring in the mattress when you laid down on it. The a/c was nice and strong and we had to turn it off coz it was still chilly outside.

The location of the hotel is ok, just beside Luxor and across from Tropicana, New York New York and MGM Grand. Mandalay Bay is also nearby.

I suggest you use the "Deuce" when you try to get around the Strip. $2 one way, $5 all day. Also, just use this hotel to get around to the other hotels or attractions, Mandalay Bay's Bayside Buffet (lunch) was excellent as is Bellagio's The Buffet although quite unreasonable that kids (even below 9) are made to pay full adult's price.

Tip: Vegas isn't a place for kids, not anymore. If you don't plan to gamble (like me) or isn't after the view from the hotel room, why not stay in some of the inns and motels around the big hotels, there're lots of them. just choose those located in the south end of the Strip, near the airport. remember, the "Deuce" is the key. $2 one way, $5 all day.

Checking in the hotel was fast maybe 5-10 miniutes
between checking in and the lines. They had alot of staff on to handle the flow of people.

I did go to other hotels touring and not as fast as check in the hotels. You could see the impatient travelers waiting in lines.

Hotel price was aprox $707 for the week with $1.00 per day added on phone fee, I found I made alot of calls in the area
and was glad for the standard fee.

Location Tower 1 20th Floor Non Smoking

The hotel was room was 2 queen beds with an " outside view "
Our view was of the Luxor Pyramid and at night it was very
nice to see the lighted beam in the sky and lights on the pyramid.

They do have a inside view in Tower 1 but, it is of the castle
roof and the castle inside peeks lit up. It does look nice but not as nice as outside view.

Shower was very large you could fit 2 plus people in it.
1 sinks, large mirror in bathroom and plenty of counter space.

Nice thick white towels.

Hair Dryer, Bar soap, Shampoo, Conditioner

Ironing board, Iron

TV has a vegas history channel on it.
As soon as you turn on the tv and go to next channel
you'll get the histiry channel.
I found it interesting to listen to when slowly awaking at night.

Bed were ok as far as comfort there is no place like home
as far as sleeping.

The have a restaurant that has buffettz for breakfast, lunch and dinner. $11.99 for breakfast plus tax. Large selction and food was good.

Also they have a McDonalds, Starbucks, an Ice Cream place and more for eating.

A bar called Dick's for those with a sense of humor and a place for laugh's inside the hotel.

Gambling All Night Long!

This is truely the city that never sleeps.

Like everything else in Las Vegas, you get what you pay for with Excalibur. We had a "guys" weekend and chose the hotel because it was cheap and the location was decent for our exploits up and down the strip. We didn't plan on spending much time in the room, which we didn't, but in case you are, here is a review.

Good:
- Upgraded room was pretty big.
- Bathroom was very large with a good sized tub-less shower.
- Quick and easy cab ride from the airport. Paid $15 with tip one way.
- One of the cheapest hotels on the strip.
- Pool was large with plenty of chairs.
- Pool has 18 and over section and employees were quick to expel children.
- Elevators were quick with little wait times. Lower and upper floors used seperate elevators.
- Downstairs housed carnival-type games for children.
- Plenty of covered parking
- Efficient air conditioning unit
- Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our door was really squeeky and maintenance fixed it within an hour.
- Good food court and shops upstairs, including McDonalds ($1 double cheeseburgers), Quiznos, Cold Stone, Pizza Hut and Krispy Kreme.

Bad:
- Basic rooms were bland and boring. Medieval theme stopped at the casino.
- Beds were extremely uncomfortable. One of the worst hotel mattresses I have slept on.
- Lots of familes with children meant noisy hallways early in the morning.
- Thin walls.
- Maid service was not very bright. They left three bottles of stuff in the bathroom... first day it was shampoo and two lotions, second day it was three lotions, third day it was shampoo, shower gel, and lotion. Also, we had four people in our room and they only gave us three towels. When we asked for one more they started giving us five.
- TV was small and had between 12-15 channels. You literally could not turn the volume down past level 21.
- Casino was one the smokiest on the strip.
- Location made for some long walks down the strip.
- No safe in our room.

Overall it served its purpose for what we intended to use it for. However, it would have been nice to come home from a long day of walking in the sun (or dancing in the clubs) and have a comfortable bed to sleep on.

Even if you don't decide to stay at the Excalibur, definitely check out the Tournament of Kings. $61 with taxes included a pretty decent meal and the show was loads of fun. Adults and kids alike will enjoy it. We had five 25+ year olds and all thought it was great.

We stayed at the Excalibur for our honeymoon. It was the first trip to Vegas for both of us, and we really didn't know what to expect. The hotel was great...yeah it's older than some on the Strip, but our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was huge!! The hotel staff that we did deal with were very friendly and helpful. If we had any complaints, it would have to be the timeshare people....they are relentless!! Stay away from them...don't make eye contact if you can help it. The food court was handy, and we did eat at the buffet a few times and enjoyed the food. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Excalibur, as my cousin got married there and there was a large group, so everyone stayed on the same floor there. I usually stay next door at the Luxor and wish that I had. The Excalibur is clean and does offer a great location for the south side of the strip, but there's no frills. Nothing great, the room could be any Holiday Inn anywhere, the pool is not spectacular and the casino is average (didn't have good luck gambling there). For the same price as this hotel, I could have stayed next door at the Luxor, which is definitely not an ordinary or mundane experience.
