We stayed at the Mirage for three nights, June 23rd through the 26th, in a tower deluxe room. This was our third stay at the Mirage. A beautiful hotel. And it has the best smell on the strip. Good service. Good casino. Great pool. This was the first trip during pool weather and we went out to the pool on two mornings.

Arrived at the pool between 6:30 and 7:00am. Pool opens at 7:00. There were maybe 15 people in line ahead of us. No problem getting a good chair. Cocktail service started around 8am. Great pina coladas. Big as your head and quite stout.

I've posted photos of the pool here. The first set was taken at 7:30am on a Monday. The second set at 10:30am. Even at 10:30 there were still chairs available.

The first morning at the pool, we actually watched a man run for a chair. Run. As in exerting himself. I'm on vacation. If I have to run for a seat, I'm not doing it. Whatever it is.

The casino was kind to us. Early morning there were $5 minimum craps, roulette, and blackjack tables.

As for the room, the bigger bathroom is worth the upgrade. The bed is quite comfortable, just ignore the ugly comforter. We asked for extra pillows which were delivered within five minutes or so. Photos of the room are posted as well.

All in all, a terrific property. Has a good feel to it.

  • Liked — fantastic pool, great fun
  • Disliked — that ugly comforter

My husband and I enjoyed our 1 year anniversary at the Mirage in April of this year, and I must say I was terribly impressed with the hotel in general. We had a great view of the strip from our room and felt all of our needs were adequately met. I certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone. To be honest, I am surprised to find it at #37 on the list! My only fault with the hotel was having to wind through (what seemed like) 8 miles of casino to get to the main elevators. Other than that, no complaints at all.

  • Liked — The location of hotel and we were able to get tickets and hotel with MGM Mirage vacations all at once
  • Disliked — this hotel is pretty popular and very crowded at times

A friend and I stayed here from June 24-June 27 for my birthday. I don't have much bad to say as the things I was not happy with can probably be expected at any large resort complex in Vegas at any given time. I mean, they are accomodating a HUGE number of people and there is no wayt to make everyone completely happy 100% of the time. This was my second stay at the Mirage, the first being about 10 years ago. The casino area and lobby area was gorgeous as it was back then. The pool is gorgeous, well maintained and clean. Contrary to many reviews on here, we did not have a problem locating chairs at the pool, even though we went down at various times of the day, anywhere from 10 a.m., to 2:30 p.m. I love that they have 3 bars at the pool!! Upon check in, they did not have the king sized non-smoking room we had reserved, saying the bed size is only a "request" and not guaranteed. We ended up with 2 queens in a non-smoking room. As long as it was non-smoking, I didn't much care. As others have said, the rooms here are a bit tired, but clean nonetheless. I found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable and definitely needs to be replaced, although I admit I'm a bit of a "bed snob" since I sleep on a tempurpedic (awesome) at home. Anyway, everyone I encountered here was very friendly. We ate at Paradise Cafe by the pool, Caribe Cafe for breakfast and had coffee and bakery from the Roasted Bean. All were good. Did not try Cravings since we are not buffet people. We did go out to Red Rock and it was nice, but not nice enough (to me) to spend the money for a car and the afternoon away from the pool!! Do not recommend the Bonnie Ranch which is near Red Rock, pretty much a joke. By the way, if you need a car, there is a Dollar Rental right in the lobby at the Mirage which is so convenient. After comparing on line, they were the most affordable as well. Also do not recommend a place in front of Ceasar's called The Spanish Steps. It is a bar near the pedestrian walkway in front of Ceasar's. The bartenders were extremely rude even though they weren't busy and a Heineken and a one shot drink cost $18!! The beer was $7!! Crazy. Kahunaville at TI was good and fun and Margaritaville by the Flamingo was also good and fun. We also ate at Gran Deluxe Cafe at the Venetian which is a cousin of the Cheesecake Factory. The menu was huge and so were the portions, all affordably priced. If I went back, I would stay at the Mirage again, we paid about $99 night and for that price, the location and pool can't be beat. Seriously, in my town, I can't even book an old Marriott for that. There are plenty of places to stay in Vegas for less, depending on what is important to you. For me, I love a luxurious pool and a property that is not so huge you have to walk a mile to get anywhere. The Mirage is all that.

The Mirage is BEAUTIFUL and is perfectly located on the strip. The rooms were more than adequate and the beds were heavenly. Maybe a little too heavenly... We slept WAY too much and really, who sleeps in Vegas??? I am a fan of putting up the "no maid service" sign and so I cannot comment on the maids and we did not order room service. I can say that EVERYONE working in the Mirage expects a tip for EVERYTHING. We called for more hangers and the guy who delivered them handed them to us and stood there with his hand out. Ok, I'm from Minnesota, and I had been told that you have to tip everyone in Vegas, but the guy who brings up hangers??? Really?! Alright, I'm over it. ;) Our trip to Las Vegas was fantastic and I think staying at the Mirage was one of the main reasons.

  • Liked — The location!
  • Disliked — Can't find the elevators to the rooms!!! (Ever seen National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation? It's true!)
