I stayed at the Mirage from June 24 - 29 and had a beautiful experience. I booked maybe 3 weeks before and got a great deal on the room with about 25% the regular rate and a couple hotel credits. This was my first time in Vegas with one friend, going to visit my two brothers who live out there. We enjoyed every moment at the Mirage with it's Tropical Theme and lush waterfalls. First off, We had a speedy checkout minus one error that was cleared up quickly. The only problem I had was that walk to the elevators. You have to walk thru the casino and all that awful cigar and cigarette smoke before you reach the elevators. then when you get to your floor its another long walk depending on how far your room is. We asked for a high room with pool view. The room was very clean, spacious and includes its on AC thermostat and IPOD dock, the bathroom isnt small, at least not for two college students who just came to party & shop. The TV is really nice, the beds very comfy, like a big dreamy cloud, sooooo comfy! (Check our pics). All the staff were helpful and went above and beyond to help us and even to wish us a great day. One in particular, Claudia, became a new friend when I caught the flu out there (bummer!), she provided us with towels and daily tips for getting better. The hallways were cold as winter though, and the ice machine was very far for us since we were almost at the end of the hall. We basically checked the whole hotel, the buffet is really disgusting, no lies about that, luckily we had a food credit. Dont waste ur money there unless you like dry, unseasoned food. The BLT Burger place was delicious and had superb service. But if the hotel food is'nt ur choice, there is plenty within walking distance. The casino was good except for alot of people just hogging 2 or 3 machines at once, ridiculous! The pool is magical. All of the waterfalls were working every day we were there but you have to get up early to get a seat. The lifeguards told us people are lined up at 8am sharp for seats so I guess you just have to use your discretion on time. Be aware that if you leave your seat, people will move your stuff and take your seat, Trust me, it happened to us. Other than that, the pools were very nice, big and clean, especially the whirlpool :o)...We didnt really like the Bare pool, kinda cocky atmosphere. The hotel gives alot of free passes to the clubs so we got one 2 bare. Drinks there are really yummy. the whole topless thing was pretty pointless to me, there were just older people showing off there boobies and young people dancing to rap music they had no idea about, seats are only by reserve so we sat at the bar mostly. The clubs in the hotel (jet & revolution) are realllyyyyyy nice. Jet is really strong on security which is cool, and the crowd is staright out of MTV spring break. Drinks are strong and if your a lady you can get 2 free drinks from the hotel. Revolution is a bit more mature and there were alot of b-boy dancing, but still nice music. The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat gets a B- simply because it could use more. It really is beautfiul and very interesting but would pull more towards families with children not two 21 year olds. We literrally walked thru it under 20 mins and left, if not from a hotel credit, we wouldve passed it up. It could use an additional section as an improvement. The hotel itself is a bit of a walk from places like the bellagio and NY NY, which in 100 and something degree weather, seemed to be unbearable, but it is close to the fashion show mall and ceasars forum shops and all that lovely stuff, which I found to be very convienent. Oh and if your trying to get over to treasure island or the walkways take the free convienent Tram, it runs like a gem. Also the Volcano was another wonderful sight to see at night. Checkout was successful and only one minute. Overall, if your looking for cleanliness, beauty and a stress-free stay...Go to the Mirage! :o)
