Stayed at the mirage for 5 days and thought it was fantastic in every way.The staff were so helpful even though we changed our minds about our rooms a couple of times. They kept going until we were happy and they were all very polite and friendly. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was such a relief after the hot days wandering around the shops and bars. The hotel was also in a fantastic place as it was near other great hotels and it felt a lot safer and less crowded than other parts of the strip. It also has an amazing pool, loads of sun beds and large, comfy, clean towels that you get as you go in. I really enjoyed my stay with my friends at mirage and I would absolutely go again.

This was my sixth visit to Vegas and in the spirit of adventure I try a different hotel each time. My last two visits were to the Bellagio and the Venetian.....tough acts to follow. In fairness the Mirage was slightly less expensive than the aforementioned but not by much.

First the good -
1. The rooms were recently refurbished and were very modern and fresh with a 42inch plasma being a nice touch. However the bathrooms were amongst the smallest I have ever encountered and really quite oppressive.
2. The location is as good as it gets. Within striking difference of every key attraction.

Now the bad -
1. The general ambience of the hotel is pretty drab. Ceilings are lower than average and lighting is subdued. The casino is not as grand as others and overall there is no wow factor.
2. Service was not particulary good. From check in to check out I had mixed levels of service with some really appalling service in the breakfast buffet.
3. Air conditioning noises wrote off a nights sleep for me.
4. The pool area is your worst nightmare. Rows and rows of regimented beds with barely enough space between them to put your foot on the ground. I've never felt like I've made a mistake booking a hotel more than when I stepped into the pool area of the mirage for the first time. Remove half the beds and youd have a very nice environment.
5. I get the impression this is the hotel of choice for the younger crowd (18-25). This may be a plus for some but for me it was a turn off.
6. Smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor of the floor I was on.

In summary if I was not benchmarking the Mirage against the best Vegas has to offer I would not be so harsh. However if you can stretch to it stay in the Venetian, The Palazzo, The Wynn, Caesars Palace or The Bellagio. They all have their foibles but for an all round Vegas experience they are streets ahead.

on monday aug 18th, me and my fiance needed a get away. with high hopes in hand, and thoughts of great times ahead, after a 6 hour flight, and a short taxi ride, we wound up at the mirage. check in was slow considering there was only one person ahead of us. there were 2 counters for the invited guests, and both people ahead of us were complaining about there accommodations. (not a great start) me and my fiance like to gamble, thats probably why they invited us in the first place. i was told to charge everything to my room and on checkout , we would settle up with my casino host. fortunately when we got to our room it was the room i requested, the room was dirty but remodeled, and a great view, except you could hardly see out the windows due to the filth, tv remote did not work well, ac was weak, a little hot, and bathtub did not have a drain plug. so i called the front desk and they said maintenence will take care of it. so now its time to hit the slots, slots were average tightness- thats all you find here are tight slots, so i decided to take a gamble in the high limit slot room, after about an hour and a thousand dollars down it was time to step away. the beatles love show was going on that night, so i decided to buy a pair of tickets. now remember i just lost a grand, they tell me to charge to the room, so i charge a pair of the best tickets for the beatles love show. 400 bucks. iam 99 percent sure the lady selling the tickets lied to me, she said the show only had th 150 a seat ticket, so i really wanted to take my fiance. so i just bit the bullet. when it was time for the show, there were hundreds of the cheaper seats unoccupied. they could not give me a good reason why this was so. so i sat through this very expensive show, and quite didnt understand it, very freaky, and lacked sense, i guess since the beatles were on allot of drugs- it was through their eyes. do yourself a favor save your money for a good cirque show. so we do the las vegas thing, walk the strip gamble, drink , go downtown, etc. having a great time get out of the mirage and start winning big, go back to the mirage start winning big. great my luck is turning. start going up by almost a grand. during this time every thing is ok with mirage, good housekeeping, good restuarants, charging things to my room, still never got the drain fixed, so my second call to front desk and you wont believe me when i tell you this, the lady said i thought you were kidding the 1st time.unbeliveable. after the second call room service did take care of the drain. let me fast foward to the last day. we had an late flighy back to new york, and checkout was 12 so i called the front desk and the said if you pay an additional 79 dollars you can checkout at 6.00pm so i said allright. she calls me back 5 minutes later to tell me she made a mistake, i cant give you a late checkout, so i said ok put me someplace else in the hotel, they said sold out, remind you this is in the slowest time in vegas. aug-very hot. so i call on my cellphone and pretend like i need to reserve a room for that night, and guess what- they would accommodate me- LIAR. so lets wrap this up at checkout i rang up about a thousand worth of room charges, and i ask to settle up, please put me to my host. they said they were unable to take anything of my room charges- you got to be kidding me i earned over 10000 points at the mirage allone, not counting the mgm. after a small arguement i just couldnt belive what they were saying. so right at that moment i decided to end my relationship with all mgm/mirage properties. i also gambled about 20000 points at the venetian, now theres a hotel, that knows how to take of people, and i earned 8 free nights there. i allready booked my next trip, and believe me i wont step foot in the mirage or any other property they own, until they realize how to treat people- so see--ya.iam not bitter as i came home a winner. me and my fiance love vegas, we travel here 3 to 4 times a year and cant wait for march.

Had a great stay at the Mirage from Aug 21 - Aug 25th. We had a nice renovated room on the 9th floor. I really liked the renos, really nice designs. I didnt like the bathroom, waaay to small. There was robes in the room, me likey that!
Casino was nice and big, they didnt have enough coffee shops, just One large one and one small one, usually lines ups, BUT treasure island has a starbucks next door.

The pool was great!! get there early to get a chair. fun atmosphere, loved the waterfalls!

All in all good times.!

  • Liked — Nice Room, great pool, middle of strip.
  • Disliked — Small bathroom, no starbucks.

My boyfriend and I went on a family trip this past week and enjoyed the Mirage. If you love being in the middle of action, this is the place to be! There is plenty of good food, entertainment, gambling, nightlife, and a beautiful pool.
The Cravings Buffet is excellent, and the burgers at BLT Burger were the best that I'd had in a while. Prices are high but it seems as though it's like that everywhere in Vegas. Although we only tried one fancy restaurant, there seems to be a fine dining restaurant for every type of food you could like. We tried the Italian restaurant which had both good service and food. I also found the interior designing of all of the fancier restaurants very modern and creative.
The pool is large and the grounds resemble a tropical island with many plants and flowers. It gets very crowded after noontime, which can make it difficult to find a place to sit. People try to save chairs even though the hotel prohibits saving them for more than an hour without occupying them. I saw a row of six chairs "claimed" by horizontally laid-down towels, and no surrounding belongings, which I quickly removed so that we could sit down! Another point is that the pool is not for those that want a quiet afternoon-there is loud music (although I liked the choice of music) and many people around, which we didn't find that relaxing b/c we're used to secluded all-inclusives. Overall though, I enjoyed the pool and the environment.
We were a group of five couples and didn't have any trouble waiting to be sat during dinner, which was nice. There was a problem with check-in in that the hotel didn't reserve rooms near each other as originally requested by us, and all rooms were not ready until 4PM (we got in at 1PM).
I enjoyed getting a good taste of Vegas at the Mirage! It was always busy and filled with people, which made for great people watching. If you want something quieter though, I would choose a hotel more like the Wynn.
