Just returned from 3 nights at the Mirage, and had a great time. Check in was a breeze - took 10 minutes tops, and we got a great room with a good view of the strip on the 11th floor.

Hotel itself was in pretty good shape - waterfalls and landscaping everywhere are very pretty, and there are lots of places to eat (California Pizza Kitchen, Carnegie Deli, Roasted Bean, BLT Burger, Stack, Caribe Cafe and Japonais, to name a few). The pool area was great, by far the high point of the property, but definitely packed. Be there by 11 am to get a seat, and earlier on the weekends. Turnover was pretty good, as there are lots of different types of people who stay here (families, some singles, seniors, etc). Drink service at the pool was great and drinks were pretty good.

Our room was nicely remodeled with a decent sized bathroom. AC unit took a little bit to kick in and there was a faint smoke/new paint smell. Bed was really comfortable and it was really quiet each night.

Overall, the pool and the location are hard to beat. Head across to the food court at the Venetian or the Fashion Show Mall for cheap breakfast or lunch options - there are tons of places to eat for all budgets within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Disliked — Needed a grab & go place to eat with to-go sandwiches, salad's, etc

We really loved our stay at the Mirage. We got a good deal from the internet at USD77 per night and the room definitely over-delivered. The room felt really clean and new, like it has just been renovated. Decor was great, bathroom was well-equipped, bed was very very comfy, excellent flat-screen TV with a side panel of AV in/out points -- really convenient for us to test out our newly-purchased Wii :)

We're not really into gambling, so pretty much appreciate Mirage's good location. Valet service staff were really friendly too. Overall, it was probably our best hotel stay in US!

  • Liked — Everything about the room, especially the bed!
  • Disliked — Can't recall.....haha

My husband and I stayed at the Mirage for 4 days, for our first trip to Vegas. We loved this hotel - the pool is so gorgeous, and the rooms have all been newly redone. They're super clean and feel luxurious and elegant. We had a great view of the strip, and the hotel is in the centre of it all. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

This was our second time staying at the Mirage and felt that the new updated rooms warranted a higher rating. We stayed from 08/08/08 to 08/10/08 and really enjoyed the hotel. The last time we stayed the rooms were pretty outdated but they did a great job updating the rooms and made it feel new. In fact, our first night we were the first people to ever stay in the room since it had just been finished and everything looked and felt brand new.

They gave us a strip/pool view on the 24th floor which we really enjoyed. They had a brand new flat screen 42 inch Philips HDTV which had about a dozen channels in HD. We spent some time at the pool and were happy with the drink service although it ended up being pretty expensive, but what can you do?

The room decor was updated but the bathroom is still the same size, which is on the small side. Our last stay in Vegas was at the Palazzo which had a huge bathroom so we were a little spoiled but it was a much bigger deal to my wife than to myself.

Both times now we have had good luck at the casino and enjoy gambling there. It was pretty crowded on Friday night but when we spent a few hours gambling on Sunday afternoon before we left the crowds were more manageable.

All things considered I think the Mirage is a high quality 4 star hotel but on this review I had to bump it up a notch since they earned the extra star with the room update. I would still rank it a notch below the Palazzo and the Wynn but when it comes to overall enjoyment our stays at these hotels have been quite comparable.

Our rooms at the Mirage were nice and newly remodled. However, the air contditioner did not cool. We called maintenance and were told that our room was as cool as it was going to get. Unfortunately, when they remodeled the rooms they did not upgrade the air condtioning units. It was basically a water cooler system. It got so warm in our room we had to crack our door to allow cool air from the hallway .
