We stayed here to see Beatles show LOVE. Show was GREAT, rooms were not, especially after we were spoiled our first two nights at the Red Rock. They're typical older style Vegas- a bit worn, dingy, smelly, scary bedspreads but are currently being renovated. I wouldn't go back until the upgrade's finished. Pro's: central strip location, good restaurants, "Love" was spectacular! Cons: Casino area's especially smoky and gets pretty crowded on weekends, rooms were a letdown, volcano closed for renovation.

Las Vegas is exactly how you see it on the tv and in the films, big bold and brassy, absolutely takes your breath away.
we were booked into the Mirage for 6 nights, our room was on the 12th floor, it was a very large room with 2 kingsize beds, tv, drinks fridge and good sized bathroom.
Our view was the Sierra Nevada mountains plus the Coloseum(Caesars Palace) the Eiffel Tower (Hotel Paris) and the Statue of Liberty (New York, New York) and the grand swimming pool.
The hotel was massive with a large number of shops and various restaurants, plus the extra large casino. There is a massive aquarium behind the concierge desk which stretches the whole length of the foyer, there are wild flowers, water falls, and bridges in the main part.
All hotels have a theme and this one had the volcano which would come to life every evening on the hour just outside the entrance.
Expect it to be packed, lots of people and plenty of noise, especially in the gaming machine areas.
This like all the hotels we visited was superb, until you have stayed in a Las Vegas hotel, you have never lived.

I don't understand the pettyness of some of the people writing the reviews. I took my daughter to Vegas for her 21st birthday. our main intent was to see the Beatles LOVE at the Mirage - she and i are both huge Beatles fans and this was the perfect gift for her (and a special gift for me too, to spend 4 days of one on one time with my college student daughter!). i initially booked our room at Imperial Palace to save $ - figured we wouldn't be in the room long enough to care. about a month before our trip, i was checking Mirage's website and found a fantastic rate so i cancelled Imperial Palace and booked our non-smoking room at the Mirage. after reading all the negative reviews, i was a little leary, but thought even at it's worst, it would be better than Imperial Palace. we were THRILLED with our stay at the Mirage. We were upgraded to a pool view room - not only could we see the beautiful pool, but also the mountains and the strip. it was awesome! our room was clean, our room was large, our room DID NOT SMELL, nor did the hallways. we were on the 21st floor and everything was great. sure, we had to walk a ways to the elevator.. but so what? sure the pool closes at 4:00 but so what? who is in vegas in february to go to the pool anyway? we were lucky enough to have awesome weather for our 4 day stay and took advantage of the pool for a couple hours for 2 out of the 4 days. i cannot find one thing to complain about the Mirage. we got a great rate, a beautiful room, the staff was great, the location is PERFECT on the strip, and of course the Beatles LOVE is fabulous. i would definitely stay at the Mirage again and again.

Book from Aloha Airlines from Oakland airport package deal. Front desk people were friendly. They had advised us the rooms are going through renovations and the volcano will not be working till the end the year. Our first room was 2-Queen beds and I used the toliet to find it not functioning. Luckily, they can easily place you to the next available room without going back to the front desk. Our second room 1921 had one Queen bed and both rooms were definitely not a 4-star hotel the quality of the room was like being in Motel 6 if the the tolietry was medicore. You can also hear the adjacent rooms and the noise in the hallways. When you walk into the hotel you're overwhelmed with casinos there is a quiet walkway but it doesn't lead you directly to the elevators. To get to the rooms we have to pass the club area Revolution, which can get obnoxiously annoying considering upon our arrival we saw drunks puking in front of our eyes and loud drunks walking haphazardly by the elevator. Housekeeping didn't replace our bedsheets during our 3-night stay. TV wasn't clear it was staticky. Prices were high in the cafes, restaurant and the stores. It would be nice to find a reasonably price restaurant. I thought the pool hours were ridiculous 9-4PM but not sure if it's because the weather was not hot yet. At this hotel I'd recommend seeing The Beatles™ LOVE™ by Cirque du Soleil® It was excellent show to see and you felt like you were apart of the show too! I did get to see the Lanai (VIP) rooms on the first floor but it also has to pass the clubs. Rooms were 5 star quality and it was isolated from all the noise.

  • Liked — The Beatles™ LOVE™ by Cirque du Soleil®
  • Disliked — I thought it was a 4-star hotel but it turned out to be a Motel 6.

If you like smelly, dingy, rooms and hallways, stay here. If you have no interest in sitting by the pool or taking a jaquzzi after 4:00 p.m., stay here. If you like paying $8.90 for a pack of smokes, stay here. If you like a lobby which smells like throw-up at 7:00a.m., stay here. If you like walking 1/2 a mile to get a breath of fresh air, stay here.If you like eating at a lunch buffet with over 50+ choices and nothing tasty, stay here.

We stayed at the Mirage for my hubby's 50th. We traveled with my son 23, daughter 20, her boyfriend 22, and our 15 year old niece. Check in was fine (although I had read it was a hassle for others). We self parked and had a looong walk with many bags. When we checked them in with the porter it took about 30 minutes and two phone calls later to get them to the rooms. The rooms were small. The beds and spreads were rough and smelly. Even though I am a smoker, we stayed in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. You could not tell the difference. It was smelly and hard to breathe. I was afraid to put my face on the bed spread. The hallways were old long and dingy. I thought we were in the movie "The Shinning." There was a frig, but it was stocked full with thier snack items. If you didn't mind paying $3.00 for a candy bar or $20.00 for 1/2 a bottle of wine it would have been ok. To bad we couldn't fit any of our dinner leftovers in.

The worst part for me was that the pool area and jaquzzi closed at 4:00 p.m. Apparently pools are seasonal in Vegas. You were not able to take an evening spa, or even sit by the pool. We could have paid $25.00 each for use of the day spa, which had a jaquzzi, but it was not co-ed. I didn't come to take a jaquzzi with my daughter.

Other drawbacks: My son needed a fork at 2:00 a.m. room service said they would charge him $3.00. He offered to come down to pick it up - still $3.00, Not one of the six restuarants downstairs would give him a fork. He finally was graciously given a pair of chopsticks by the one Japanese resturant. Tacky! The famous volcano view room we booked and paid extra for didn't exist. The volcano was broken. Be prepared to spend the bank. Drinks at the pool, smokes, sodas, just about anything, will cost you triple.

On the positive: we did have a great view of the strip. The location was very central. The staff was ok. The pool area and pool was awesome with a beautiful waterfall and trees. (To bad it's unavailable after 4:00 in the winter and closes at 8:00 during the summer) Hey I thought this was Vegas, The city that never sleeps. We had a great time with our family but will personally never stay at this location again. We had brunch at Belliagio and it was beautiful! Very airy and you could breathe. I would not reccomend this place for the price paid.
