We visited the Mirage while staying at Treasure Island and had to leave almost immediately. Mirage pipes in a VERY strong scent all through the casino area. I don't know if they do this in the rooms or the shops - we weren't able to stand it long enough to find out! My friend has allergies and asthma and it triggered an attack. I don't have any allergies or asthma, nor am I sensitive to odors, and found it hard to breath, it made my eyes water, and I could TASTE it! We only found relieve when we ran out to the pool area.

The hotel is otherwise very nice. But be sure to consider the issue if you don't like being forced to smell strong perfume-y odors.

  • Disliked — The perfume piped into the air

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend trip to Las Vegas. I gave my husband the trip for his 40th birthday. We decided to stay at The Mirage. We chose the hotel for its central location. We were not disappointed. The Mirage is located on a really nice stretch of the strip. Treasure Island, Ceasars Forum Shops, Fashion Mall, and The Venetian are all within an easy walk! Our room was a standard room with one king bed. We were on the 23rd floor and looked out at the mountains. The room was quite big and was in great condition. We did not gamble in The Mirage casino - table minimums were too high! We enjoyed the casino at The Orleans! Won $300 at a Craps table on Sunday night!! All of the staff members were nice and the hotel was not over the top. We ate at Carnegie Deli, Caribe Cafe and the Roasted Bean (breakfast). We also enjoyed the fantastic pool.

  • Liked — glammer and glitz; pool
  • Disliked — Volcano was closed for refurbishment

The Mirage is decent for the money. I would have liked a more updated decor, I'm so over Grandma chic. I think it is a steal compared to the others if you factor in location, price and the great restaurants/club located on the premises. Jet and the adults only pool were my highlights ;)

We stayed there Feb. 9th - 11th.
The pool area was beautiful and it was fun fun to see the dolphins and tigers as well.
We loved the spa and were styled by Kim Vo at the salon, who was wonderful! We enjoyed the casino with the scenic atrium, though like most Vegas casinos it was smoky. The startup comps were skimpy compared to other casinos starting comps like the Wynn. We earned 2 free buffets at both
We were unimpressed with our tiny aging room. I read that they're revamping the hotel rooms starting this month (I noticed no construction myself) and it is much needed. Our sink had a ring of rust in it, the bathroom was very small, there wasn't anything really good or nice about it.
Next time I'll stay at one of the newer hotels on the strip. I enjoyed my stays at TI and NY, NY more.

  • Liked — The pool and the salon
  • Disliked — the rooms were tiny and funky

We have stayed at a few hotels in Vegas and really like the Mirage the best (so far). On our vacation we tour several of the hotels, eat at a different place each meal and make our decission on where we will stay the next year. This is what we noticed: There is a tie between some of the hotels (sister properties) and it is very obvious when visiting them. Some pay very close attention to detail, they make the property beautiful BUT their customer service is not so great. It is like they only care about "the look" and not the service. At the Mirage, we were impressed that they not only do their best to keep the property looking nice but they also make sure that the lines move smoothly, fast, they are moving about the hotel and casino looking for someone that may need help with something. I was at Harrah's walking around and was wanting to ask a question, it took me amost 30 minutes to find an employee to get assistance.
At the Mirage, they check for room keys at night before alllowing you to get on the elevator. This is really nice preventive security. Their construction starts this month and we upgraded to a volcano room, the volcano was not working due to the remodel so we were comped for not having the erruption view.
One thing I would suggest is that if you are looking to travel up and down the strip, get a 24 hour bus pass for $5.00, it stops at all of thebig name casinos and it is MUCH cheaper than a cab or the tram.
