Tropicana offers nice, affordable accomodations, with one of the best locations on the strip. Awesome customer service...they always take great care of us...generous room comps, even for small players like ourselves. The staff immediatly addressed an issue we had with dining room service, and management called us promptly, and apologized with a lovely gift basket. It was nice to be heard, and nice to know that the Tropicana valued us as guests in their hotel. They have an awesome free flowing heated year round pool, the only pool open 24 HOURS in Vegas!

I highly reccomend this property for clean, comfortable accomodations, customer service so unusally great...it'd be hard to find this kind of caring and quality anywhere on the strip...and a great overall value.

We've srayed at numberous casino's on and off the strip in Vegas, and always prefer the Trop over all the rest!

Tropicana Casino & Hotel Las Vegas. What a great value, and a great location for home base in Las Vegas. Yes, it's a little worn, but time was when a vacation was all about your adventures and not about the room. For instance- we had one of the best times in our lives at their wonderful pool. The lush gardening, the waterfall, the volleyball net, the swim up blackjack table, the attentive service all made for a relaxing and fun time. We found it refreshing to be in a pool where the clientele were more interested in fun than in their own self-absorption. We've stayed at the Mandalay Bay, and while their pool is spectacular, we got tired of the body beautiful who were only there to tan and to "be seen," and yikes- to yak endlessly on their cell phone. What an abomination!
We played volleyball with other guests- had a few drinks, and developed a comraderie that included meeting for lunch, and then sitting together at the lounge, and then for the Folies Bergere show. What a great Old Vegas experience.
The room in the Island Tower had a mirror above and adjacent to the bed. We enjoyed a great view from the bay window. The room had a couch with coffee table. The bathroom (and tub) were rather large. (Yes, we didn't have Egyptian linen, and the bathroom had a tile or two missing, and the walls need new wallpaper, but we can't justify the cost of staying at a ritzy new property for the newer room, when we don't spend that much time in the room.) We paid only $ 39.00 per night-
$ 69.00 on the weekend- so we got what we paid for. As the newer resorts have gone up, so have the rates, and the once amzingly inexpensive getaway known as Las Vegas becomes a big expense, with $ 300.00 rooms. The Tuscany Italian Restaurant is simply wonderful. The Calypso Coffee Shop, which offers views of the pool was above average. The buffet was adequate but not special. The Folies Bergere show has been running continously for over 30 plus years, and is a great classic Vegas Show. Basically- the location is great, the rooms are adequate if not spectacular, and the lower cost of the rooms will allow you to spend more money on other activities. If your fortunate enough to have an unlimited budget and are accustomed to the Four-Seasons, Ritz Carlton Hotel experience, you don't belong at the Trop. By the way- the immense stained glass ceiling above the Casino was designed and fabricated by Tiffany in 1962.

Good price. Had this recommended to me from that call in reservation helpline in Vegas while driving into town. We stayed there in July and found the room perfect location for us - far enough from the hustle and yet walkable to all. Room was comfortable with nice towels and bathrom ammenities. Each room had a small balcony- I think, anyway, that was a nice touch. Has entrances that allow one to eneter/exit without going through casino. On site eating choices were good. Friendly staff. For the price- great value and comfort.

This hotel is really rather horrible. The decor is tatty, although the rooms are large. Carpet and general decoration in hallways was appalling. The promised Internet hot spots didn't work. This was designed by someone with either no taste or very little money. I'm sure it is clean, but it looks and feels dirty. There was a pile of dried vomit on our balcony that no one came to clean up. The culprit probably ate the buffet breakfast.

Rooms have been run ragged. Beds have broken springs and are audibly creeky. They are also covered wuth the kind of rubber mats you put on kids beds that might wet themselves. Ewww!

Crappy low thread count sheets.

Small TV's. Charges for use of in room safe. No in room internet. The pool is wifi but it wasn't working the week of CES and they charge $15/day. (The Paris hotel charges $10/day for in room hi-speed!)

Check in area is worn down. Counter tops are chipped and in need of paint. Aquariums behind the checkin area are empty and dark.

Elevators have stained carpets and metal fixtures have worn through finish.

Food at the coffeeshop is worse than IHOP or Denny's.

My AC unit was groaning. I opened the filter cover and the air filter had 3-4 mm of dust on it. I asked to have it changed and upon return the next eveing was told it had been replaced. I reopened it and the same filter with my scratch in the dust was still there. Front desk was argumentative about resolving the problem.

Check in took an hour.

Bathroom has the thin towels and cheap no brand soap you'd expect in a $20 motel on a midwestern interstate. Room was $200/night and no conditioner either.

Hampton Inn is a much better experience.
