My husband and I stayed in Vegas from Aug. 20th to the 25th at the Monte Carlo. I must say it was quite busy with a lot of kids. I guess parents were trying to squeeze out the last bit of summer. Check in took about a half hour but we received our room right away even though it was two hours til check-in. The pools were wonderful with the 100+ temperatures but getting a lounge chair could be difficult as stated by others. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The window could have used some cleaning on the outside. Dust from the construction on the other side of the hotel probably didn't help. Eat at the Brew Pub-the food was good and reasonably priced with good beer and root beer. Some small things could be improved on but all in all the hotel is nice. I would definately stay again especially in hot weather. We rented a car for two days and side tripped to Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire. They were both awesome. It was our first time in the Valley of Fire and we took at least a hundred photos. I can't wait to go back to Vegas.

Monte Carlo on First Anniversary was a disappointment.

We booked the Monte Carlo through Expedia after reviewing TripAdvisor, and found the advice basically sound on cleanliness and appearance. Our complaint with Monte Carlo is with customer service. The casino was like all the others: cigar smoke, sloppy-dressed patrons, and a rude, "get-out-of-my-way" attitude! After having booked two months in advance, wanting this to be a great trip on our First Anniversary, our experience with Monte Carlo was only so-so. We asked for a Deluxe Room with a King-sized bed and left a message that it was our first anniversary. We arrived to find that if we wanted a king bed that first night, we would have to pay an "additional fee" to upgrade to a "Junior Suite" -- "the computers were down" that day and the huge Monte Carlo only had rooms with double beds! So...on our long-planned first anniversary, it was pay extra or get a room for the first night of our first anniversary in a room we could have booked "any time!" There was no courtesy upgrade, no apologies from a supervisor, no special anything, just a "come see us tomorrow," and we'll see about moving you to a room with a king sized bed! Monte Carlo was a fine hotel, but don't expect anything special there!

How pleased we were that we decided to upgrade for this stage of our trip, especially after visiting the Excalibur which we would have stayed at.

Our adjacent rooms were large clean and had efficient air conditioning as well as having comfortable beds and a marble bathroom. We were 20 floors up and faced away from the construction site at the end of a corridor, so were not bothered by any noise

With such a large hotel it is not expected that the staff would have time to be very friendly but they were efficient and a fault with a light switch was sorted very quickly when reported

The Food Court provided a more economical service than the restaurants, although we enjoyed a buffet lunch after an early morning "breakfast "in the Grand canyon but eating in Las Vegas was more expensive than other cities we visited, even with the exchange rate.

Our boys used the pool which was open till 8pm but it was very crowded and rather warm even then

The air did seem of better quality than many of the other hotels and it was a peaceful place to retreat from the heat of the Strip
Location wise it would have been preferablre if the Bellagio tram had still been running because it was very hot to walk, but we did manage to use the bus and the cable a couple of times

We thought it was good value for the quality of the hotel, although our younger son would like to try Caesar's Palace!

  • Liked — Quality of room, cleanliness, peace and air quality
  • Disliked — walking distance from hotels further north on Strip
  • Tips/Secrets: — Request room away from construction site

My husband and I have travelled to Las Vegas for years and frequently stay at the Monte Carlo. We just came back from our latest trip - one week during the week preceding Labor Day.

Many positive aspects of the Monte Carlo are still intact. If you are a poker player, the Poker Room in this hotel is small, but the staff and dealers are probably the most courteous, friendliest, and welcoming of any poker room in town. We enjoyed the games there, particularly the bonuses they pay for high hands.

My husband is a beer drinker and the Brew Pub came through as always. Good quality brews, and the food is terrific, too, particularly for a pub. Portions are large, and good quality. We always ask for Mollie, one of the best waitresses you'll ever have.

Several reviewers have commented on the rooms and nearby construction noise. In my opinion the rooms are good sized and fine - not great or plush like you might find at Bellagio, but certainly a (large) step above chain hotels. Yes, you can sometimes hear the water coming down bathroom pipes from an upstairs room. As for the construction noise - it woke me up at 6:30 am, but my husband was able to sleep through it. If you're a light sleeper, you may have a problem.

TIP: If you're only interested in having some juice and a muffin for breakfast, there's a CVS literally next door. We paid $5 for 2 juices and 2 muffins versus $12 for the same thing at Starbucks.

I went to Vegas literally on the spur of the moment. I arrived at the airport less than an hour before a plane departed to Vegas, no ticket in hand and no room reservation made. My accompanying friend had stayed at the Monte Carlo on past occasions and remembered her time there as enjoyable. As such, when we landed, that's where we headed.

After incredulous looks from the front desk regarding my non-existant room reservation, check in was a breeze, the room was pleasant, inviting, warm, clean with all the amenities you would expect. I knew I would not be in the room often and it was completely acceptable. Our room was on the 26th floor over looking the wonderful pools.

I turn my focus now to the professionalism and hospitality of the staff members at the Monte Carlo.

I played it all!!! From the penny slots to the high roller black jack room betting in excess of $5,000 a hand, the staff everywhere were wonderful. I got the same level of service at the penny slots as I did in the high limit room.

I make a particular reference and thank you to my casino host David. He met all of my reasonable and even my unreasonable requests. He made my first trip to Vegas an experience I will never forget. Because of his hospitality it will not be my last. For that, I thank you, thank you, thank you David.

After 2 days of play, he upgraded me to a complimentary suite, a suite which surpassed my expectations of any hotel room imaginable. The Monte Carlo suites are to die for!!! I had NEVER stayed in that form of luxury. Furthermore, the staff continued their unbelievable hospitality.

Vegas will be a permanant fixture in my gambling future although I am closer to Atlantic City. I will not say anywhere else besides the Monte Carlo EVER. Because of David and his professionalism Monte Carlo will forever be my home away from home.
