Stayed here for six nights on business. I've stayed here on several previous occasions and it was fine. This time however it was pretty grim. The room was showing signs of ware. Furniture was scuffed, burn holes in the carpet, long dark hairs all over the bathroom (I've got short brown hair).

I think they must also be trying desperately to save money since there was no hotel information brochure or even a pad and pen by the phone in the room. They automatically charged a "Resort Fee" of $9 whether you wanted it or not. Staff were pretty indifferent to complaints and I'm guessing it's because they get quite a few.

It's a shame to see this hotel go down hill since I've previously enjoyed staying here. I won't be returning in hurry and shall be watching Trip Advisor reviews to see if anything improves.

We spent 3 nights at the Monte Carlo and enjoyed every minute. Check-in was quick, and the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We arrived at 11 a.m. and were in our room 20 minutes later. He gave us a room near the elevators, as requested, because my husband has trouble walking. We like to sleep in on vacation and one day didn't leave the room until 1 p.m., but the housekeepers respected the Do Not Disturb sign and somehow managed to clean the room as soon as we were gone. They did a great job--our room was sparkling clean every day. 8 of us met for the Sunday brunch buffet and spent a few hours there visiting, but the wait staff never seemed impatient and the food was great! The fitness room was well-equipped, and I appreciated the free water and juice. Only one small complaint--the daily resort fee covers just 1 trip to the fitness room per day. If I wanted to use the weights in the morning and go back later for the treadmill, it was an extra $5. That seems ridiculous to me, but it's a pretty small thing compared to all the other great things about this hotel. We'll definitely stay there again.

FIRST TIME IN VEGAS AND LOVED THE MONTE CARLO

My boyfriend and I went to Vegas for the first time Oct 2-7th. We had origanally choose to stay at one of the fancier hotels, but later decided on the Monte Carlo because of the good price. We were more than happy with what we got!!! The Monte Carlo is deffiantly not one of the top notch luxary hotels, but it was exactly what we needed.

The rooms were basic, but suffecient. We paid extra to have a high room /strip view. Not necessary, but it was a great view. The room was a bit on the small side. Similar to what you would have at a Holiday Inn, but it was clean and enjoyable. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. Did not enjoy the 9.50 service charge per day for the "luxary's" of the room, such as room service, 2 small waters fresh daily, and local newspaper daily. I was highly impressed with the fact that the shower was probably the best that I had ever been in, in a hotel. Great water pressure and no lack of hot water, even when the 2 other people in the room with me showered first. Overall, great value for room.

Although I was in awe over some of the other hotels such as the bellagio, and venetian, I would stay at the Monte Carlo any day over them! The Monte Carlo is a smaller hotel/casino, but for us that was exactly what we wanted. I never got lost in our hotel, like I did in the majority of the other larger hotels. By the end of our first night there I basically new where all the resturants and food courts were, and could easily make it up to our room within a few minutes. In some of the larger hotels, such as the MGM, Bellagio and Venetian you can literrally get lost and walk around for an hour before you find what you are looking for. Such a waste of time when you are in Vegas

Location was GREAT!!!!! I loved where we were!! Not quite in the middle of the strip, but directley accross the street from the bus stop at the MGM Grand where you could buy day and week passes. Also, directly across from a couple ticket stands where you could get discount tickets for shows for the day. This was always our first stop where we would make our plans for the day. Last, there is a Denny's right across the street where you can get breakfast for cheap!

As for the resturants in the hotel, we had the opportunity to visit 2. We ate lunch at the newley branded "Pub". Ordered 2 build your own burgers and 2 domestic beers a peice. The burgers were probably the best we ever had, HUGE, and just overall delious!! They however do not list their prices on the menu, and this should have been my first clue to try something different! The burger and fries were 25.00 a peice and 5.00 domestic draft beers. This came to a 75.00 dollar tab!! Was not expecting that! We did also go to "The Buffet" for breakfast one morning and it was good. A lot to choose from, but nothing to extraordianary. Prices are deffaintly cheaper for the buffet during the week.

Over all, we had a GREAT experience at the Monte Carlo and would deffeintly stay there again because of the value that we got for our money, the size of the hotel, and the great location! Would not recommend it to the 20 something that is going to Vegas to stay up all night and party because for the most part it was fairly quite, but would deffaintly recommend it to the people who are there to sight see and take Las Vegas in and get a good rest at night!

We had been to Las Vegas twice before staying at the Excalibur and the Luxor. After spending a week travelling to Arizona and Utah we were spending our last week in Vegas to celebrate a friends wedding. Members of the party were staying at the Bellagio, Wynne, New York New York and Luxor, but we were looking for the best deal in a reasonable hotel and the Monte Carlo seemed the best option. Initially we had booked for 8 nights but arrived in Vegas a night earlier and the service desk were very helpful in accommodating us. Our room was a bit dated but clean. The Monte Carlo looks very impressive from the outside and is spacy inside it is also ideally situated on the strip. There are cheap eating and drinking options which the upmarket hotels do not have. We tried the buffet at lunch and it was very good. There was building work going on between the hotel and the Bellagio which we didnt here but it was a pain having to walk through it. Our friends and the bride and groom were staying at the Bellagio so we did spend a lot of time at that hotel which is very luxurious but also expensive for drinks etc. so they were joining us at the Monte Carlo in the evening. We would return to the Monte Carlo as we found it hard to fault, perhaps new decor!

You don't go to Vegas to hang out in your room and for that reason the Monte Carlo is PERFECT! Not that the rooms are bad, they are just average. Spacious, with comfortable beds and clean and nice washroom. But the best part is this hotel is a great price, is amazing location and has a lovely pool area.

Would definitely recommend!!
