“Nice, smaller hotel”

Monte Carlo Resort & Casino

Stayed at the Monte Carlo on a Thurs - Sun in January.

We requested a high room floor and therefore could not check in until 5pm. Our room was on the 20th floor and had a decent view of MGM, NYNY, Paris & of course the construction.

The outside construction noise was not a problem, however the walls are very thin and if you have a neighbor, you will be able to hear their conversation. This was the major downfall.

Otherwise, the room was fine, decorated nicely with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was standard, with a basic tub/shower.

The casino is smaller than many, and slightly quieter but that was ok by me.

The spa was very nice with a cold plunge pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna & nice fitness center.

The only restaurant we ate at was the buffet which was fine for breakfast, but not so interesting for dinner. Not quite as much selection as many have.

All in all I did enjoy my stay here and would stay again, the only hesitancy is due to the sound quality of the rooms.

I stayed in this hotel for three nights with some friends in late 2006.
We got the hotel online at an excellent rate!
Check in at the hotel was reasonably quick and hassle free. The check in desk is as big as an airport check in desk!!The whole reception area is done in like a marble finish, absoloutely beautiful.
The hotel room was very clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the main Vegas strip, although you had to bypass the construction work at the Ballagio.
The Monte Carlo has everything you need so you don't have to leave the hotel (like all Vegas hotels, they want you to spend your money there rather than in another hotel). It is equipped with different eateries, shops and a lovely outdoor pool but the main attraction about this hotel is that it has its own micro brewery! For just $19 you can buy a pitcher of 6 pints! This beer is 6.5% alcohol, alot stronger than your average beer. The bar itself is quite big and has a great atmosphere. We drank there every night before heading out.
The casino is the same as any other Vegas casino but still great fun once you know your limit!
Location wise, its perfectly situated between the Ballagio and the New York New York and directly across the street from the MGM Grand.
I would definately recommend this hotel for a great stay in Vegas!

This was our second time at the Monte Carlo. We booked it because of the price for the location - next door (ish) to the Bellagio and opposite MGM. You get what you pay for - not one of the plushist hotels on the strip, but certainly better than some others! It isn't the biggest or at all gimmicky, but we quite like this. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We had no problem with noise, although we can see how you would if roomed near the construction site next door! Parking was a problem - we ended up in New York New York's parking lot and had to walk across with all of our luggage. Suppose we could have valet parked though if it had bothered us that much! Check in queues were horrendous, but when we reached the desk, the process was quick and simple - don't know why everyone in front of us seemed to take so long! Would highly recommend Sir Galahad's Steakhouse in Excliber, and the Top of the World Restaurant in the Strastophere for a special occasion!

“Not what it use to be”

Monte Carlo Resort & Casino

Stayed at the Monte Carlo 2 nights in Jan. 08. The place is not kept up like it use to be. Paper thin walls, that we had to listen to people and their conversations, and crying babies. By the way, who takes a baby to a Casino?? There use to be beautiful arrangements on every floor when you exited the elevators. Now there is just an empty table. I noticed letters missing off signs telling you where to go in the Casino. Just stuff like that. That if I'm paying that much for a room, I expect more of the hotel. It cant really hold a candle to the Bellagio, Venetian or Caesars Palace.

“disappointing”

Monte Carlo Resort & Casino

We had booked this hotel for the last leg of our honeymoon because we had seen it the last time we were in Vegas and it looked stunning. However, the room we were put in was below average and looked onto a building site (athough with the shape of the hotel makes it difficult to guarantee a decent view for everyone). The casino smelled of food mixed with cigarette smoke (lack of air con??) and a not very nice air freshner. we asked to be moved and were initially refused then my husband asked if we could cancel the rest of our stay and go elsewhere, and we were told that this was ok (no initial effort to deal with our complaint). we packed our stuff and were ready to check out when one of the guys at the desk (rudy?) offered us a free upgrade to a suite. we really appreciated his efforts and decided to stay and the suite itself was great. When we were there the hotel was under rennovation so hopefully this has been completed to restore it to its original state which I believe would have been fantastic.
