My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ventian from Friday 9/22 through Monday 9/25. Overall, our stay at the Venetian was really great.
We stayed in a Prima Suite in the Venetian Tower. Our room was 36-108. The view was of the north end of the strip (toward the Stratosphere). We had a good view of the Treasure Island Pirate Boat show, but we did not have a view of the Mirage Volcano. This is no fault of the Venetian, but we did also have a view of the construction next door to the Wynn. If you are going to have a Prima Suite (which is floors 34 through 36) you may want to ask "What will my view be?" because if they mention you have a view of the pool, then you also will have a view of the construction. Although I didn't get an opportunity to see what the view would be like facing the South Strip, I'd bet it would be better than the view of the North Strip.
The facility itself is beautiful & kept well by a hard working, accommodating staff. I only encountered one instance that I found to be a bit forward. When we were checking in, one of the bellhop personnel asked me if we'd like our bags brought up to our room. I figured it's vacation, so sure, go ahead. This guy writes my name on a ticket and hands me my receipt & then says to me (and I quote) "Thank you sir, and this will be the last time you will be seeing me as someone else will be bringing you your luggage." ... hmmm ? Do you think he was fishing for a tip? I didn't think that printing my last name on a piece of paper justified the tip ... I saved the tip for the person who actually brought us our bags & tipped him well. Again, I can't look down on the Venetian for the selfish actions of one person.
The only negative thing I can say about the Venetian itself is that it's so big and it's easy to get lost in the facility. I'm sure their goal (like all other casinos) is to keep you in their facility. The exits are NOT easy to find.
As for the service, it was excellent. The cleaning service was very thorough & professional. I love the fact that they have security at all elevator entrances who verify you belong where you are going. The elevators are sectioned off (floors 26 through 36) (floors 16 through 25) and so on. This is excellent as you don't have to wait to stop on every floor. We never waited more than 60 seconds for an elevator !!!
One thing to keep in mind at the Venetian (or other places like the Wynn, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay) is that you get what you pay for. The Venetian is a fine establishment & can be a bit on the pricey side, but well worth the cost. Our room was about 1,500 square feet and had a big jacuzzi tub in the gigantic bathroom.
Overall, the trip was fantastic, but this review is about the Venetian (not my trip), so in summation if you want to treat yourself to a little bit of luxury, the Venetian would be a wise choice.
