Treasure Island, or TI as they refer to themselves these days, is a good, solid full service hotel. Rooms are ample size, clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are reasonable too with hair dryers and toiletries. Beds are really comfortable. Lots of food options inside and one of the better buffets to be sure. We wish there was coffee in the room and a mini bar or fridge. We had neither. Location is perfect easy walking to many other casinos and if you like to shop, right next door to the mall. Casino is good too not too big. $5 minimums can be found during the day on tables.
Can't say we had any real problems but we were a bit dissapointed. First, the staff seemed, well disinterested, even from the moment we checked in. Bad first impression. No eye contact and no thank you. We were also the only ones in line. Later we needed some glasses and I asked the maid in the corridor and she seemed annoyed. Isolated incidences hopefully, but it just rubbed us the wrong way.
Our real issue was the pool. We stayed at the sister property The Mirage two years ago and the pool was fantastic. I expected at least a larger area that was better looking. The actual pool was really small and totally overwhelmed by 20-somethings. The deck area wasn't big enough to get away from all the noise and the chairs were dirty and some rusty. Now, we are only in our mid 30s and like a party but sometimes you like to relax and we just couldn't.
So, overall if you don't care about the pool, want to shop, eat and gamble and don't care about being made a fuss over, it's a great option. I just felt for $150 a night, they could have seemed a bit happier we were there.
