I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and usually stay at Planet Hollywood (previously Aladdin). We have also stayed at the Rio, New York, New York, and Bellagio. I decided to try something new because there are so many choices. Treasure Island happened to have a promotion where you get a $15 midday food credit, $10 to spend at Starbucks and money for playing (amount depends on room type). I checked the calendar they had their website and verified that on of the nights I was staying had that promotion. I checked in the day before the promotion and stayed for the first night of the promotion. When I asked the front desk, they said I had to check-in on the first day. Funny thing is the restrictions (which I read throughly before booking online) never stated anything about when I had to check-in. Well, turned out that they would rather argue with me then honor the promotion. On top of all that, I was not impressed with the rooms. They were more like a 3-star rooms. Their idea of a duvet is a comforter between 2 flat sheets. The strip view room had a window in the far right-hand corner of the room (not ideal). The one positive thing I could say about my stay is that the beds were comfortable.

I had to move over to TI for 2 nights because the Venetian couldn't accommodate me as they were full. I rarely post negative reviews, but this is one stay that truly calls for it.

I was thoroughly disappointed. After standing in line for registration
for over 45 minutes and paying $30 extra per night for a strip view, I
found my room to have a rather small window, dingy drapes and carpet, and a definite sewage smell. Housekeeping came up rather quickly and re-cleaned the bathroom and sprayed everything with some sort of deodorizer. That worked until the next day, when the smell re-emerged.
The bathroom was unremarkable except for the astounding graying of the
"white" towels.

As far as the casino goes, it was very poorly lit and on the small side. It was also surprisingly quiet. The casino bar was dirty, the waitresses sullen and the bartender was rude. It also smelled slightly
of sewage. The slot machines were greasy with quite a bit of trash accumulated between them and the roulette tables had no action whatsoever. Again, I trekked over to the Venetian where it was clean and lively.

There was no coffee maker in the room and I could only find one place that offered coffee to go. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked due to the realtors' convention and I guess we all had the same idea at the same time. The line was outrageous so I hiked over to the Venetian where amenities abounded.

One morning I walked into the hallway to find a young woman sitting on the floor outside a room with a drink and an ashtray full of cigarettes in her lap. I did approach Guest Services to make a reservation for dinner at Todd English's Olives at the Bellaggio and after some resistance, she took care of that for me.

The stay was a disappointment and I would not return again. Unfortunately most of the hotels at that end of the strip were sold out and I had to stay near the rest of my party across the street. All
in all I felt ripped off and uncomfortable at Treasure Island. I wish they would have at least refunded the $30/per night for the "view". At $250/night, I felt very unhappy with my accommodations.

  • Liked — Proximity to the rest of my group at the Venetian
  • Disliked — Sewage smell

Have just returned from a 7 night stay at TI (6 – 13 November) and would recommend it to anyone.

We booked two Petite Suites direct with the hotel and on arrival at around 2.00pm there was no queue for check in so we were dealt with immediately. I told the check in girl that it was a very special trip for us and we would love strip views (I presented a $20 note with my credit card) and she gave us a south strip view room on the 29th floor and a north strip view room on the 30th floor. She also said that she would put two bottles of champagne in our rooms compliments of the hotel.

The lobby, elevator and landing areas were very clean and bright and our room was located in the main circle just outside the lift.

On entering the suite it became clear that we were in one of the renovated ones. The two queen beds were made up with throwovers in brown faux suede and there were plenty of cushions and pillows on each bed. There was a flat screen TV on the wall above the desk plus a sofa with footstool. In addition there was a tall poseur table with stools. The clock/radio on the bedside table was also an ipod docking station so there was no need for me to have taken my own charger and speakers.

The bathrooms were very clean and the “hers” bathroom with whirlpool bath was particularly spacious. The wardrobe in the “hers” bathroom contained an iron, ironing board, mini fridge and hairdryer. The wardrobe in the “his” bathroom contained a safe. There were plenty of clean, fluffy white towels and facecloths in each bathroom plus a plentiful supply of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soaps, tissues and body lotion. There was an ice bucket provided and ice was available from a machine down the hallway.

The view from the window (room 29002) was as spectacular as I imagined with views down the strip as far as Mandalay Bay. We could just about see the Bellagio fountains and the Mirage volcano. We could also see across to the mountains and the Rio and Palms hotels. The other room which my parents occupied (room 30076) was exactly the same as ours but with just one king bed. They had a view of the north strip and the mountains (plus the New Frontier hotel which was imploded while we were there).

If I had to grumble about anything it would be the lack of natural light in the room. Even with the drapes fully opened and all the lamps lit, it was still a little on the dingy side. I would also have appreciated some fresh air in the room rather than the dryness of the air conditioning. There were also a couple of nights when we were woken by some noisy guests making their way from the elevator to their rooms although my parents didn’t experience this in their room which was located further away from the elevators than ours.

The Sirens Show was just about to close down for 6 weeks when we arrived so we saw one of the last performances. It wasn’t up my street but everyone around me seemed to be enjoying it. As a hotel guest you go to the doors marked Sirens Cove off the casino floor and show your room key to the doorman. He lets you through the doors to stand in a roped off area near the front. If you want the best view you need to get there early to stand on the front row.

We ate at the TI buffet the first night we arrived and found it to be surprisingly good. We also ate at the Mexican restaurant, Isla, which was excellent and very reasonably priced. We ate breakfast at the buffet on our last morning but found it to be a bit greasy compared to the excellent buffet breakfast at Mirage (which is easily accessible by using the monrail from TI). The Breezes bar on the casino floor had a very relaxed feel about it although it was a little too chilly for my liking. The coffee shop was open 24 hours a day and the Breezes bar did coffee and pastries to take away.

We found ALL the staff we came into contact with to be polite and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to return there.

  • Liked — Strip views, friendliness of staff, stylish room
  • Disliked — Dark rooms, noise on landing, lack of ventilation

Just got back from TI yesterday.

Before I talk about the hotel, a few things about Vegas:

Everyone always says how Vegas is a cheap vacation...reasonably priced food, reasonably priced attractions, etc. I found Vegas to be on par with New York City...only with palm trees. I highly recommend Tao....the Asian restaurant at the Venetian (make reservations as people are turned away), dinner buffet at the Bellagio and Isla (Mexican) at TI. All were amazing...and well worth it. Not to be missed is the "Dancing fountains" at the Bellagio.....amazing ! Less thrilling is the "volcano" at the Mirage. SIrens, the free event at TI is closed until late December....but it's being marketed as 'The Happy Hooker" meets "Pirates of the Carribean"

We were also told about the "Deuce"..the bus system that runs the strip. For $5..you can ride unlimited for 24 hours. Traffic on the strip is heavy....so unless you have a long distance to travel....walk...as sometimes it's faster.

If you have kids...leave them at home. This place is for ADULTS...you cannot walk the strip at night without being inundated with business cards for "escorts"...or seeing trucks hauling signs for "girls who want to meet you". I'm very liberal minded....but it's CONSTANT.........

As for TI, the hotel itself is clean, well maintained and the staff efficient. Our room was nice with a great view of the strip.

My big complaint about the hotel is reserved for the bed. The bed, while having a great mattress, is short sheeted. The hotel does not use fitted sheets....so the bottom sheet (the one on top of the mattress) does not fit properly.....so when you crawl into bed your feet are not on sheets, they are on the mattress pad.

Other than this small complaint, I would stay here again
