We stayed for 4 days at the Carriage House and had a very pleasant stay. When we checked in the first room they checked us into smelled strongly like cigarette smoke (room 607) despite our request of a non-smoking room. The second room (#420) was much more to our liking and smelled just fine.
The location is great. Planet Hollywood is across the street, and MGM Grand and the Bellagio are close by. The staff was always friendly and courteous, and greeted us as we came and went and made us feel at home.
The rooms are very large - like a typical one bedroom apartment. They feel a bit worn out, but still are well decorated in slightly worn and outdated furnishings. The kitchen is reasonably stocked with cutlery and glasses. The cleaning staff didn't clean dishes - which isn't unusual in suites we've stayed in.
The rooms did a good job with noise, but it was still possible to hear the monorail going by - and one night someone nearby had their TV turned way up and we could hear the muffled sound through the walls.
Another reviewer mentioned theft - and, while I don't doubt him/her at all, we didn't have any problem with this. We left both of our laptops out while we were out during the day all four days and didn't have any issue with them or anything else going missing.
Overall, the rooms are a bit aged looking, and it's definitely not a glamorous hotel, but the rooms are large and comfortable. Parking wasn't a problem. It's easy to walk everywhere. The strip is less than 5 minutes walk away. The monorail - which is fairly useless by the way - is 10 minutes walk south to MGM. Great location, inexpensive rates and a large comfortable room.
