We stayed at the Orleans hotel from Monday March 12 - Friday March 16.
I purposely chose an off-strip hotel as we were staying with 3 kids. We had a car so it was not an issue for us.
Check in: Very quick - maybe 10 minutes. Asked for strip view and got a room on the 18th floor. Asked for a crib and got it right when we got up to our room, very quick.
Room: The rooms here are nice. We were in room 1808 which was a really long walk from the elevator, but didn't bother me. The room had 2 double beds that were really comfy and a sitting area with a couch, chair & coffee table. I was really surprised by the size of the room. Very nice. The bathroom was ok, just average with regular tub & shower. Didn't really dig the sliding door, but oh well. There was also a desk area with the internet connection that we didn't use.
Entertainment: What we used was the arcade, which was adequate, but not fantastic. It had a really small one by the bowling alley and a little larger one by the movie theater. The bowling alley is really nice and big. We had 4 people bowling 2 games with shoes costed $17.50 (this was with a coupon from the book they give you at check in). Bowling is $1 between 12am & 8am though so if you are up...We did not see any movies, but the theater was really nice and huge.
Pool: It was March so pool hours were only until 6pm. The big pool is nice and big. It is only about 3-4 feet everywhere. It was not heated, so it was a bit cooler. There were stairs all around the pool and kind of a ledge that kids could walk on in the pool around the edges as well. The kids pool was great. It was a small circle and was heated - this meant lots of adults hanging out in there as well. It was a wading pool around the edge and then the middle had some stairs and went a bit deeper. This pool is in the sun all day until about 4pm so put sunscreen on your young ones! The other pool had shade for more than half the day. The jacuzzi was really nice. It was a circle with a large tree and rock/fountains in the middle so you didn't see the people on the other side of you.
Spa/Fitness: I only used the jacuzzi & steam room. I didn't have any services done. This is separated for men and women. Not many people in there when I was there. The steam room was really hot as was the jacuzzi. This was a free area. There were separate shower stalls and a nice dressing area with all the things you need. They have water bottles in there as well. The gym was really nice as well and didn't cost to use as I know some do.
Business Center: It had an area for faxing, copying etc plus 4 computers with internet access if you weren't using a laptop. No charge for this.
Restaurants: We only ate at the French Market Buffet. We were gone most of the time. Hubby and son ate breakfast once and really liked it and we also did lunch & dinner on 2 separate days. Lunch was similiar to dinner in my opinion, dinner just costed $5 more. $13.95 for dinner & $8.95 for lunch. I thought it was very good.
Casino: I only play slots so not an expert. Lots of 1 & 5 cent slots though. More than I have seen at other places. I thought it was fine, not too smoky and the waitresses seem to come around fairly often.
All in all I thought the Orleans was a decent hotel.
