When my company conference at the Mandalay ended, the wife and I moved to the Orleans for two nights. We are not big gamblers, so I can't comment much on the gaming scene.
We had a car and never took the shuttle. It's a good thing because I'd have no tolerance for losing a shuttle ride to people who hadn't been waiting nearly as long.
No complaints with check in or out. We stayed in 884. Room was excellent except for shower, which drained way too slow. Probably a hair clog in tub drain. I mentioned it to desk while checking out, so maybe they'll fix it.
I used the coupon book to get free gym usage. On first glance, the gym looked great. Only while trying to actually use the equipment did I notice that most of it was very difficult to adjust (seat height etc.) and uncomfortable to use. Also, it all only goes up to 150lbs, which is fine for most, but can be a tad light for some. It was adequate for 'tiding me over' for a day or two, but I'd have been ticked if I had paid to use it.
We only noticed near the end that there was some free deck parking, but I'm not sure if it would have been convenient. The valet deck parking was to the right if viewing Orleans from the front, the free deck parking was to the left and somewhat behind the place. We parked in the lot in front, and it was a minor pain walking across the 4 or 6 lanes of lot traffic to get to the car.
Food-we had two very good breakfasts at the main breakfast place there. I recommend the omelet, which is huge. Oddly, they never offered to refill my coffee, which was not that cheap at 1.75. Should have gone to Seattle Best for that, I suppose. Lots of other restaurants/entertainment on site that we did not try.
Overall: pleased with our stay, especially after the trauma of staying at the Mandalay. Would recommend the Orleans heartily.
