“No MGM Grand”

We have used this place for a convention for the past 4 years or so, The rooms are hard to find as no signs are anywhere if one walks down about 5-6 different sections. Check in is always slow. Check out is to be avoided so check out on your TV. This is basically a locals hangout, and; some are downright addicted to gambling. The staff has gone downhlll in the past two years. Their are still some helpful types though. Unless you get out of this place you feel capured. It is no where near the main strip. Yes they have a shuttle to their other BYD casinos. A cab to NYNY or the MGM Grand is about 15 bucks/20 with tip.

The Orleans seafood is good, but; most restuarants here are chains like Fridays. If you are a burger, pizza , are a Fridays fan, or like a great prime rib this is your place.

The Casino switched to a three tier players card system like Harrahs. Dump 2-3K or gamble about 5K in 4 days and you can cash in 13 bucks or play 25 bucks worth of credits. I hate the comps here.

However, the price is right for those on a budget. The rooms are clean, have a coffee maker, plus an iron and a safe. The AC will freeze you out. You could dump this place and 5-10 like it inside the MGM Grand and the MGM Grand would still be less walking.

The problem is no signs are posted to find the rooms/elevators from any of the cutoffs and back places. You have to recall where the main cashier and table games are to find the rooms.

The restrooms are a long walk from most slots and table games. I have won here. A 12,700 plus jackpot in 06 and have lost some, too. I see why the locals come here. They know to come at 3-5 AM. Take note of that time down.

We stayed here twice on two consecutive Sundays at the beginning and end of a longer trip. Check-in was easy and fast, room was clean and large, bed was very comfortable and it was CHEAP.

Room excellent, buffet better than average, location a bit poor - no other casinos within walking distance.

great place to stay and eat, clean large rooms, good food for reasonable prices, but "WARNING"....do not,,,repeat.,,,do not
gamble on the slots or video poker......these machines are set sooooo tight, they make the airport machines seem loose, i recommend you stay and eat there, but do yourself a favor take the shuttle or go elsewhere to play machines, we found the downtown machines good.......good luck....

Visited The Orleans as the host hotel for an Awards Show "Hoodie Awards". Annual Awards Show. Not only did we enjoy the casino and hotel. We attened the Awards show at the Orleans Arena...very nice facility.

What a great place!
The rooms are spacious with a safe (not bolted down, but it never disappeared). Sliding door to get in the bathroom, huge tub with a window to open for ventilation if needed. A nice sitting area. Lots of drawer space (at least for our 4 day visit).

Happy Hour at Don Miguel's (12 noon-5 PM)...99 cent Margaritas and 50% off appetizers...enjoy.. I DID!
Courtyard Cafe...great food for anytime. I thoroughly enjoyed pancakes almost every day!
There is a Fridays, a pub and about 3-4 other restaurants/eateries in the casino.
Terrible Liquors inside the hotel...great prices and opened until midnight.

Get a Coast card and enjoy some dollars and percentages off on things around the casino. There are plenty of slots, tables, Keno, and other places to gamble throughout the casino.

Don't forget to check out the Movie Theater, Video Arcade and Bowling Lanes (Check out weekday night prices when U get there...GREAT DEAL!)

The free shuttle is nice and FREE. Takes you to almost mid Strip. On the corner of Paris, Bellagio and Caesars). I enjoyed The Orleans so much, I wanted to go back after being on the strip for about an hour.

There is a Walgreens about 1/4 -1/2 mile from the Orleans (walking away from the Strip). Great place to get souvenirs. The gift shop is nice in the Orleans as well. Great postcard prices and prices on jewelry and snacks as well.

Enjoy the Orleans... I DID!

“Not too good”

The Orleans Hotel & Casino

For the money the Orleans is good value and you would pay a lot more in the UK to stay in lesser hotels. There are downsides to this place though. Vegas is a glitzy and Glamorous town, get dressed up to go to the Orleans eateries or casino and you will feel very out of place. The market buffet is very down market, miserable waiters, drab decor, bad odour, greedy americans piling their plates high with all sorts. The cleanliness of the rooms has declined over recent times, having your wardrobe open plan in the bathroom is not nice either. The carpets in the casino are now filthy and give the casino a very bad odour. I visited the Hilton during my stay and noticed how nice the brass and glass was kept on the entrance doors, the Orleans entrance doors are very dirty and unkempt. If you are on a tight budget go for it but otherwise note that this hotel is very much on the decline
