My husband and I booked a room at NY NY in Las Vegas and decided to change rooms. The room was tiny and we heard the roller coaster constantly. We called the front desk and were given another room. When we left, we forgot our items (jewlery, camera and $600) in the room safe. We remembered 5 minutes after we left and notified the front desk. They told us we had to go down and get a temporary key since our keys would no longer work. My husband went down and they kept him waiting for 30 minutes. They finally told him that they had already checked out the room to someone else and we could not enter the room without the new occupants permission. (no one was answering in the old room). I finally asked to speak to a manager and she told me security would meet me at the room to open the safe. When I got to the room, a desk clerk came running to tell me that security had already opened the safe and my items were at security. When I went to claim them they told me there was no cash, only jewlery and my camera. I complained to everybody but no one listened. I told them security should not have opened the safe without me present, but they said another security person was present. They would not give me any names or explain anything to me. They treated me like a liar and told me they had no liability. They never returned my money. I will never go to this horrible hotel again. The only ones that could have accessed the safe was security since no one else knew the code I had put. Their customer service is awful!
