My husband and I stayed at the NY NY from 1/23 to the 27th. I guess you get what you pay for. I got a really good on-line deal. Upon check-in I was asked to "upgrade" (for a cost) to a bigger room. For $25.00 extra a night I could of had a bigger room or for $60.00 a night I could of had a Jacuzzi suite. I turned them down and got my Tower Room on the 12th floor. When I was handed my key card I was informed I had two queens but I had booked a king bed. I was informed that a king was "not guaranteed". That was the first I had heard of that. I should of pressed the point - but I was tired from travel. My room had a huge dark stain on the carpet, the shower dripped, the tub didn't drain properly, so you were standing in water when you showered. The wardrobe doors didn't close tight, so the automatic light was on unless you proped the doors shut. Even though I tipped the maids, two days in a row I was left without washcloths (I must not of tipped them enough). The first time we called down and after 12 rings, called again, 15 rings later we contacted housekeeping to have wash clothes brought up. We didn't bother the second time.

The first night the rollercoaster was loud, but it didn't bother me that much - it sounded like thunder. Then it was shut down for the rest of the week.

But considering the price - the experiance wasn't that horrid. I just expected more. The rest of the attractions in the hotel seemed very over priced. As for staff - it was pretty non-existant. Next time I'll pay the price and stay at an upper scale hotel.

Stayed at the NYNY over New Years (04). The room was very clean and modern and ample big enough for 3 girls (getting ready etc). Two queen beds. Only problem was the room was at the back of the hotel and to walk from the lobby to the room took about 15 minutes, so ask for a room at the front or near the lobby. Although still not bad, walking is a must in Vegas anyway.

The hotel has a very relaxed feel to it, with lots of good bars and restaurants. The Time Square bar with it's duelling piano's was very lively and upbeat. Didn't pay to go in, but you don't really need to as you can get a drink from the bar alongside and still experience the atmosphere. We didn't have reservations for New Years, but we queued (30 mins) for the Il Fornaio at NY NY (very good meal), so don't worry if you are going over a holiday period as you can always get something nice.

All round I would say that the NYNY is a great hotel for all people, it's in a good location on the strip with a bridge across to the MGM grand and the monorail (great restaurants in the MGM Grand).

I would reccommend anyone to stay here.

We were at NYNY 21-24 January. The room we had was a Park Avenue Deluxe on the 16th floor. We had the king size bed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was small but nice for the weekend. We were near the beginning of the roller coaster and I couldn't hear it at all. Service was great. People were very nice. Lots of stuff going on during the weekend. We went in to check out Coyote Ugly before they started charging to get in. There were lots of people there by 8:00 ready to have fun.

My husband and I stayed at NYNY Dec. 22-26, 2004. We bought the Irresistible Package, the lady at the front desk gave us extra coupons
for the RollerCoaster and she added coupons for hotdogs and alcohol. The exterior of this hotel was probably one of the most beautifully designed hotel. We've never been to NYNY, this hotel gave us a taste of what it might look like.

The Park Avenue Deluxe room did seem a little small, but very comfortable. Our bed was nice a firm. Pillows very fluffy. Bathroom very nicely decorated, bigger than the average hotel bathroom. The shower had a nice gentle all-over stream to it, I found it relaxing.
The room had self-control heater and air conditioner.

The TV had about 25-30 channels with WebTV, PPV, and view your room bill.

The staff through out the hotel was very nice and accomodating.

PUBS AT NYNY: At Coyote Ugly, it is a very small bar - standing room only! No tables or chairs to sit to casually enjoy the atmosphere. In my experience there, I got tired of standing and found my energy drain, we just left, as other customers did.

The Big Apple, very nice for casual drinking. However, the bar staff didn't seem to personal or in the mood to work, they didn't smile or chit-chat. The bar has a stage performance each night, we enjoyed that.

The Timesquare! A very entertaining crowd-pleasing bar. We enjoyed the duelling pianos. The performers bring the crowd in to sing, yell, participate, all in playing your favourite tunes for a price. Very very enjoyable. Arrive early to grab a table.

ROLLERCOASTER: My husband went on this rollercoaster, he found it very uncomfortable and a rough ride, he found his head hit the side pads a lot. This rollercoaster is rated in the top-10 of USA, my husband strongly disagreed, as he is a rollercoaster ride enthusiast.

NATHANS HOTDOGS: a part of our free coupons...blahhh! The taste of these famous NYNY hotdogs were very very bland. If these are really NYNY and USA's favourite hotdogs, OMG! Please come to Canada and try our juicy-meaty hotdogs.

RITA RUDNER SHOW: OMG! Rita was absolutely hilarious! She had my husband and I laughing from beginning to end! A must see show, while you are in LV. Our tummies were sore the next day from all the hard laughing!

CASINO: We didn't gamble that much, we might have spent $20 in slots and $40 in BJ. We played mainly the .05 cent slots, lost what we put in instantly. A staff member later shared that the .05 are the biggest revenue earners of all the casino games, I can see that being true.

HOTEL SURROUNDINGS: NYNY is connected, by way of pedestrian bridges to 3 other hotels. MGM, Tropicanna, and I forgot the other one. MGM is a very well decorated hotel, it offered more shopping and fast-food restuarants. You can connect to the monorail at MGM, to hit the other end of the strip. Across the street from NYNY is a Denny's restuarant, M&M store, Coke Cola store, a kid-amusement arcade park.

Would we stay there again? Ya I think so, the price was very very reasonable compared to other strip big-attractive strip hotels. We also might consider MGM Grand.

Myself and 3 girlfriends stayed here 11th - 15th November 2004 and loved every minute of our stay.
We had a room on the 12th floor and it was more than could be expected for the price we paid - we were impressed.
Would definitely recommend the Irish bar - they serve Stella but it's nothing like ours!
The entertainment in the Big Apple bar is definitely worth going to see - the group there were fantastic.
We ate in the hotel restaurants and had no complaints - the food was fine.
It was one big party for us as we made the most of the 4 days we had but we managed to see a lot of the other hotels and of course we took the helicopter ride to the Canyon - well worth the money.
We also got round a few of the shopping malls and made the most of buying clothes up to half price cheaper than they are here in the UK.
I would have no hesitation to stay here again and hope to do so in the future.
