My husband and I stayed at the NY NY from 1/23 to the 27th. I guess you get what you pay for. I got a really good on-line deal. Upon check-in I was asked to "upgrade" (for a cost) to a bigger room. For $25.00 extra a night I could of had a bigger room or for $60.00 a night I could of had a Jacuzzi suite. I turned them down and got my Tower Room on the 12th floor. When I was handed my key card I was informed I had two queens but I had booked a king bed. I was informed that a king was "not guaranteed". That was the first I had heard of that. I should of pressed the point - but I was tired from travel. My room had a huge dark stain on the carpet, the shower dripped, the tub didn't drain properly, so you were standing in water when you showered. The wardrobe doors didn't close tight, so the automatic light was on unless you proped the doors shut. Even though I tipped the maids, two days in a row I was left without washcloths (I must not of tipped them enough). The first time we called down and after 12 rings, called again, 15 rings later we contacted housekeeping to have wash clothes brought up. We didn't bother the second time.
The first night the rollercoaster was loud, but it didn't bother me that much - it sounded like thunder. Then it was shut down for the rest of the week.
But considering the price - the experiance wasn't that horrid. I just expected more. The rest of the attractions in the hotel seemed very over priced. As for staff - it was pretty non-existant. Next time I'll pay the price and stay at an upper scale hotel.
