Just got back from a 2 night stay at the NYNY. We got an internet deal that included a free upgrade to a Park Avenue room, spa passes, 2-for1 Il Fornaio patio breakfasts (which is pretty good but stops serving breakfast at 10:30 AM), $10 match play, and roller coaster passes. Check-in at the airport was fast and easy. We received a 28th floor non-smoking, 2 queen room in the Chrysler tower. Getting to the room from the main entrance was kinda a hassle because our elevators were on the opposite side of the casino from the front near the Zumanity entrance, but that also meant that we had a side exit right by our elevators that was really convenient when you wanted to walk to the other casinos. You just can't catch a shuttle or a taxi there or easily get to the pedestrian bridge to MGM. Also, it didn't seem like any of the rooms were that far away from the elevator because each tower had it's own. The elevators were also very fast. The layout of the NYNY did seem to be even more confusing than the average Las Vegas casino and was kinda cramped and not well marked. The room itself was on the smallish side but nice and clean. There was none of that smoky smell you sometimes get even in non-smoking rooms. We never once heard the roller coaster that a lot of people are complaining about. We did, however, hear our neighbors cell phone conversation loud and clear because the walls are very thin. Oddly enough, we only ever heard him when he was on his cell, so maybe he just talks excessively loudly. The airconditioner worked, but it seemed like it made the side of the room that it was on cold while the other side remained stuffy so it was hard to settle on a setting that everyone would like. The armoire was fairly small and there was no other place to put your clothes. The bathroom was marble-tiled with a shower/tub with a sliding door and was very clean though also small. Unfortunately, the shower pressure left much to be desired. The maid service seemed good, though I was annoyed when she woke me up at 9am after partying all night to see if she could clean the room. I guess I should have used a Do Not Disturb sign. Also, if you want your sheets changed you have to make sure to leave that card on the bed otherwise they'll just make the bed. The rest of the hotel was adequate. My friend really enjoyed the spa and her massage. The quick service food places were just passable, but I did enjoy the Il Fornaio breakfast. We didn't go to either of the bars, but one with the dueling pianos was usually packed at night. Instead of spending most of our time in the NYNY, we ending up going to some other casinos to eat or club. The location of NYNY was really good for that. It shares a pedestrian bridge with the MGM which has some great restaurants and clubs and you can catch the monorail there. We also didn't think the walk to the Bellagio was that bad. All in all, I'd stay there again if it was a good deal, but I think that next time I'll try the MGM which seemed nicer.

We have stayed at NYNY for several years now, and love it.
One reason we keep going back is the size of the casino. Not as large as say MGMGrand, you can find your partner easily and you don't have to walk for an hour to get thru the casino to restaurants or elevators to your room. Compact, busy and cheerful. Being originally from the NY area I love the atmosphere of Central Park and Greenwich Village eateries. Try a Mango Marguerita in the restaurants, to die for. And the restaurants are super whether you want Mexican, Chinese, English or American. Since the players club is now open to all other MGM Grand Partners you can get a nice variety of 5 different casinos and it all goes onto one card. And the best casino host is at NYNY, Lee Abraham.

My wife and I stayed Jan. 7 through 9. After checking in we went to the elevators and noticed a sewer smell that stayed there the entire stay at both elevator banks and in the elevators themselves. Not a huge deal but it sets a tone. Went up to our room and it hadn't been cleaned yet. Went back down and got a new room. Other than that I found the food decent and the people nice. The slots are tight and we had better luck at other casinos. Coyote Ugly was fun if only to watch the not-so-fit female patrons dance on the bar. With so many hotels to choose from we'll try something different next time. Hopefully stank-free.

Visted the NYNY from Dec 28th to Jan 1st. They upgraded us upon arrival to a Broadway Deluxe room. We were on the 37th floor in the Empire Tower with views of the strip. The room was much larger than normal as it was a corner room and adapted for wheelchair users. We were pleased with the room, though they need to remodel.

When we arrived in Vegas the rain poured down like I've never seen it (and I'm from England!) By 2am the rain was so strong that water started to penetrate the windows of the room. We called the front desk at about 3am and maintenance came up to the room and dried the carpets. They didnt have another room to move us to, so gave us a $25 room credit instead.

Apart from this one incident, we had a great stay. The slots were tight and we ended up going over to the MGM where I won $2000 on a top dollar slot.

Would definitely stay at the NYNY again.

Stayed four nights beginning 30 Dec 04. Customer service was non existent. Paid over $400 plus a night and the towels looked liked they were used at a car wash. I specifically asked if they had a health club. They do but its $20 a day and it closes at 7:00 pm. To access the $10.99 a day high speed internet is inconvenient. The cable comes out of the back of the TV and it doesn't reach the desk. You have to sit in a chair with your lap top in front of the TV. We were constantly given bad information about restaurants and times they were opened. Would absolutely never consider staying there again.
