Just got back from a 2 night stay at the NYNY. We got an internet deal that included a free upgrade to a Park Avenue room, spa passes, 2-for1 Il Fornaio patio breakfasts (which is pretty good but stops serving breakfast at 10:30 AM), $10 match play, and roller coaster passes. Check-in at the airport was fast and easy. We received a 28th floor non-smoking, 2 queen room in the Chrysler tower. Getting to the room from the main entrance was kinda a hassle because our elevators were on the opposite side of the casino from the front near the Zumanity entrance, but that also meant that we had a side exit right by our elevators that was really convenient when you wanted to walk to the other casinos. You just can't catch a shuttle or a taxi there or easily get to the pedestrian bridge to MGM. Also, it didn't seem like any of the rooms were that far away from the elevator because each tower had it's own. The elevators were also very fast. The layout of the NYNY did seem to be even more confusing than the average Las Vegas casino and was kinda cramped and not well marked. The room itself was on the smallish side but nice and clean. There was none of that smoky smell you sometimes get even in non-smoking rooms. We never once heard the roller coaster that a lot of people are complaining about. We did, however, hear our neighbors cell phone conversation loud and clear because the walls are very thin. Oddly enough, we only ever heard him when he was on his cell, so maybe he just talks excessively loudly. The airconditioner worked, but it seemed like it made the side of the room that it was on cold while the other side remained stuffy so it was hard to settle on a setting that everyone would like. The armoire was fairly small and there was no other place to put your clothes. The bathroom was marble-tiled with a shower/tub with a sliding door and was very clean though also small. Unfortunately, the shower pressure left much to be desired. The maid service seemed good, though I was annoyed when she woke me up at 9am after partying all night to see if she could clean the room. I guess I should have used a Do Not Disturb sign. Also, if you want your sheets changed you have to make sure to leave that card on the bed otherwise they'll just make the bed. The rest of the hotel was adequate. My friend really enjoyed the spa and her massage. The quick service food places were just passable, but I did enjoy the Il Fornaio breakfast. We didn't go to either of the bars, but one with the dueling pianos was usually packed at night. Instead of spending most of our time in the NYNY, we ending up going to some other casinos to eat or club. The location of NYNY was really good for that. It shares a pedestrian bridge with the MGM which has some great restaurants and clubs and you can catch the monorail there. We also didn't think the walk to the Bellagio was that bad. All in all, I'd stay there again if it was a good deal, but I think that next time I'll try the MGM which seemed nicer.
