RECOMMENDED. Check-in at any Vegas hotels usually entails a line at any hour, and NYNY is no different. Had me down for "smoking" room despite a clear reservation for "non-smoking". Offered to change on 2nd night. Luckily, the room didn't smell and I did did not move. Very large room, though not much furnishings. Decor modern and getting a bit worn. Room fairly dimly illuminated (thanks to energy saving bulb). Bathroom in good condition, well lite, showing some age, but acceptable. Bedding of moderate quality. No room noise at 17th floor overlooking roller coaster. NYNY is in a decent location on the strip, the property is not such a monster as the MGM next door, so a good choice for a Vegas trip.

Myself and four friends came for a week, this hotel was recommended as fun and casual. We had a great week couldn't fault it, the rooms where spacious clean, the staff helpful, bars lively, although the sun didn't arrive to the pool area until 10.30am it stayed all day. The rollercoaster is a must and once is enough!!!!!!!! It was great to see the bigger hotels but i'm glad we stayed somewhere less bling.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights at the begining of September 2007, apart from being put in a smokers room after requesting a non smoking room,(they moved us to a non smokers room the next day) our stay here was great. The staff were always helpful and the amenities were great. Being Non Gamblers, but just wanting the experience of staying in a casino on the strip, it was a real eye opener. I was abit concerned about staying here from other reviews I had read, but after staying here would have no problems recommending this hotel to others. We could see from our room that the pool was in shade most of the day, but we did not fly 11000 Kilometres to go swimming in a pool, so this did not affect our stay at the hotel.

Stayed in the New York New York from 3rd September until the 5th when i moved to the Bellagio for my wedding.
Arrived a day later than planned to find the hotel trying to charge me for nights i had paid for with a money wire, although i had a reciept and emails to confirm this i had to stand (after a 24 hour delay in Gatwick) for 3/4 of an hour until i was in tears though sheer exaustion while a front desk man tried to find the payment he eventually found it but then tried to say the rate on my last night had gone up granted i had added the night later but was not informed of any changes in rate even after payment , the guy was trying his best (we recieved half price foodvouchers)but didnt seem to care i was very unwell, you would assume after such terrible treatment a free upgrade might be in order but no we didnt even get the king bed we had asked for despite being in Vegas to get married( when i complained later we were offered a new room but all i wanted was food then my bed ) so i would not stay here again on pure principle it was a horrid start to my wedding week in Vegas, My parents stayed at the same time as us and loved it but even without my bad experience i would choose another hotel further up the strip the Imperial Palace if on a budget or the Bellagio if you want to be spoiled.
