This was our first time staying at the MGM Grand. Like most of what the previous reviews have mentioned this hotel is huge and there is tons of people everywhere you turn. However, the lay-out of the hotel is not too bad. They have signs everywhere to point you and get you going in the right direction.
MGM POOL: We did not get a chance to try out the pool. However, it looks very inviting and I look forward to trying it out sometime. If you are interested in going to the pool make sure you book a room in the grand tower as this is the only tower with the shortest walk ( 5 min ) to the pool.
MGM GRAND TOWER KING BED: This room is very awesome. The decor is excellent in all areas and the bed is very comfortable. We booked the room for $89 per night which is an awesome deal. I have heard of others booking the same room for $69 per night. Check the MGM Grand website periodically even after you book your reservation as their rates literally change daily.
MGM GRAND CUSTOMER SERVICE: Of all the hotels that I have stayed at MGM absouletly has the best customer service. All personell and dressed professionally and act professional. Don't get me wrong you will run into a rude person here and there but I would say 99.99% of the time you will love the customer service.
LADIES: MGM Grand of all the hotels that I have stayed at have the most beautiful and hottest women in one place that you will ever see. Don't get me wrong there is beautiful women all over the Vegas Strip, however, MGM Grand has an on-going mix of beautiful women at any given time.
MONORAIL STATION: MGM offers easy access to the Las Vegas Monorail and it will take you all the way to the other end of the strip ( Sahara Hotel ) for a nominal charge. We took advantage of the $9 24 hour pass which is normally $15 and each ride is $5. I wouldn't recommend paying the $5 for the one way ride because it simply is not worth it. However, if you score a deal like we did ( 24 hr Pass, $9 ) its worth it. Nonetheless, depending on your plans while in Vegas the monorail is cheaper than a cab as the Vegas strip is 6 miles long. Monorail currently runs from 7am to 2am and till 3am on the weekends.
DEUCE BUS: This is another transportation option. Its $2 for one ride and I believe $5 for a day pass. The only downfall is its almost always full until well after midnight but there is plenty of buses running and again its cheaper than a cab.
MGM BUFFET: A little pricey but well worth it to try at least one time. I believe its $12.99 for breakfast ( We did Breakfast ) $13.99 for lunch and a whopping $25.99 for dinner. Food was very fresh and again the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Only downfall, you have to wait for waitress to serve your drinks. You would think for the price you pay you could get your own drinks.
Overall, not sure if I would stay at MGM again. For the price of $89 per night I would definetly have to consider it and for $69 per night why not. Hotel is very huge but not a problem for me. If the monorail had a killer deal like this trip than MGM would be good choice as we got up and down strip in no time and were able to catch all attractions that we wanted plus the staff and accomodations are bar none compared to other hotels we have stayed at, ie, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus and Stratosphere.
I would say give MGM a try. Its an excellent choice but again just like other reviews say it is huge and if your not into walking all over to get to your next spot in the hotel or if you have kids with you on the trip I would probably stay at Monte Carlo instead but my wife and I enjoyed our stay.
