The hotel is nice, rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable. However, the hotel is very big, it takes a lot of walking from any place at the hotel to your room. The restaurants are too expensive for a middle class traveller.

I've stayed at many hotels in Las Vegas and the MGM was my least favorite so far.

We checked in fairly quickly but were upset to find the room had a dirty bathroom and not the "strip view" we were promised. When we called the front desk and explained the problem they told us to meet an employee at a new room. He was there in 10 minutes which was great but he didn't bring us new keys so we could get in the new room but would be locked out if we left. We called the front desk again and they said it would take 30-60 minutes for someone to bring new keys and after waiting for longer than that we just went down and got the keys ourselves.

The following night I heard pounding and screaming on the door next to ours and discovered our neighbor was locked out and trying to wake her boyfriend inside. I told her to call the front desk and they sent someone up eventually who loudly fought with her about opening the door because she didn't have her ID....it was locked inside the room.

The hotel and casino were constantly crowded with loud and obnoxious people at all hours and I even saw a few homeless people wandering around right past security.

I liked the Excalibur better than this place! I would never stay here again.

MGM has it all! The pool area was exactly what we were looking for. Read many reviews on Vegas pools and I don't think the MGM gets enough credit for the pool area. The pools were well kept, I noticed an adult only pool that seemed more festive, a quiet pool that was not very crowded, and a lazy river that was very refreshing when the temperature jumped over 100. This resort is huge and there are so many restaurants, clubs, bars, and shops, whatever, that you will have to walk to get to places. I personally did not think that things were "too far." My only gripe was that in order to get anywhere from the Grand Tower, you had to pass through the casino, which at times got very smoky. But I noticed this at all other hotels I visited. The check in desk at the airport was very nice, no hassles or lines. For anyone thinking about bringing the family to Vegas, the MGM is a great hotel for families traveling with kids.

We booked into the MGM for the final three days of our stay in the southwest USA. We didn't get off to an auspicious start when (after booking a non-smoking jacuzzi suite months ahead on the hotel website) we were allocated a filthy, smelly smoking room.

I completed the substantial trek back down to reception, and was told that nothing else was available, and that the Hotel didn't guarantee my non-smoking preference. I replied that since the room was unacceptable, and the Hotel obviously too full to allocate us a non-smoking room, we would find alternative accommodation.... and that I'd like my 1 night deposit refunded.

This was obviously the magic enchantment required, and 30 seconds later I had a key to a room on a non-smoking floor.

The room was still a bit tired, with strange stains in the bathroom and a patched carpet next to the bathroom door, but otherwise acceptable. The bed was huge, clean and comfortable, and all of the amenities worked.

If staying here beware of the car park, it's quite busy and dark, and we were nearly sideswiped several times by cars reversing out of spaces.

The MGM is OK I guess, but frankly I'd spend the money elsewhere.

My family stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas during our June 2007 vacation. The hotel is incredibly big, and has lots to offer. The view from our 19th floor Grand Tower room was spectacular. The Lion Habitat was one of our favorite attractions in Vegas. My sons and I even got to pet baby lion cubs. We enjoyed breakfast at the buffet, with exceptional service on our first visit. The casino is lively and plush. The pool complex is expansive. The hotel staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. We got a super room rate for our weeknight stay, making this hotel a top value on the Strip.
