Huge hotel - that can be good . . . and bad. Good value for Vegas.

There have been so many reviews, so not sure I can say anything groundbreaking that hasn't already been said. This is a huge hotel that can get (and got) rather crowded the weekend we were there. I highly suggest the airport check-in if an option, as the lines looked long at times in the lobby. The rooms are okay (no HD TVs), no smoke smell and decent enough size. Quiet. Plenty of restaurants and the casino . . . very mixed clientele. Obvious from our trip to Vegas that there are definitely classes of hotels, and I'd say MGM Grand is mid-upper class. Go to Excalibur (down) and Bellagio (up) to see what I mean. If you get a decent deal, you won't be disappointed with the MGM. We would stay here again, but there are so many choices in Vegas that next time we'll try somewhere different just because.

I had a fun stay at the MGM. Our room was super nice and was cleaned really well every day. The pool is nice too. Wichcraft, a sandwich place in the hotel, wasn't that good. They have good security in place too. After a certain time you have to show your room key in order to go up the elevator.

We Preferred MGM over others as it was giving good value for money but the room was not as if you are staying in Las Vegas .. We booked it online and had a 1 year old daughter .. when we checked in it was a long Que. and we had to walk a lot to get to the room . when we entered in the room it was totally different then what was sold to us , so we called back on reception and they told us to come back and get the other room .. we did the long walk again and went to get the key .. the room that we booked online was in west wing and I guess it was a 1 mile walk away which is not suggested to anyone with kids ..
Room was rubbish even though it was newly built but there were no windows it looked like a one bedroom flat without any thing to look outside ..
there were no views no windows all we could see behind the beds were some things roof which was very depressing view .. the bathroom and showers door were made of glass and had no locks ..

the wardrobe was small and had no safe ..

we requested a microwave which was never provided to us ..
we checked out after few hours and they never offered any compensation ..
so I would never stay in MGM again ..
If you are looking for some good place I guess Bellagio and venetian is best but if you are on Budget .. You cant beat Caesar Palace .. it s good with shopping food etc ..MgM is nothing but only casinos which are not very pleasant either ,. the restaurant where we had buffet had not much choices of food either so overall MGM was a bad experience

I have just returned from a trip to Las Vegas. We stayed at the MGM for 5 nights. Overall it is a good hotel. We opted for a Prima card which meant that we were upgraded to a bungalow suite. The room itself was nice and big and had two queen size beds which were fab, by far the most comfortable beds that I have slept on in a hotel. The facilities in the room were rubbish. There is no tea or coffee facilities and no fridge. We had 2 tv's but no fridge???? These are basic facilities and I can't understand why they were not in the room. We asked for some champagne glasses to be brought up and whilst the use of them was free, there was a delivery charge of around $3!!! Whilst the price is nominal, they cannot seriously charge for housekeeping to bring something to your room!!!

Housekeeping were fine. They were a little late on a couple of days but not an issue as most of the time we were out of our room. The restaurants, bars etc in the hotel are fine. The prima card itself was good but there is a pressure to spend all of the resort credit. This is fine if you have regular meals etc but you are restricted to the MGM hotels (of which there is many! including the Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island).

I would stay at the hotel again but next time I would probably like to be a bit more central, for example, Bellagio, Ceasars palace.

I highly recommend seeing "O" at Bellagio. We booked our tickets online from the UK and we got 25%. Excellent show.

In terms of clubs, the must go to clubs are:

Monday -XS at the Wynn
Tuesday - Pure at Ceasars Palace
Wednesday - LAX at Luxor
Thursday - Tao at Venetian
Friday - Tryst at Wynn
Saturday - any club

We also took a helicopter flight over the canyon with sundance helicopters and that was fab. Just don't drink too much the night before!

I just got back from staying at the MGM 10/29-11/1. Check-in was fast at ~1pm. They didn't have the king room I requested available at that time so I took 2 queens. Got a Grand Tower room on the 24th floor with a view of the airport & mountains in the distance which was fine with me. The room was good sized, clean & comfortable. My room was a comped based on my play at other MGM hotels & my first stay here. I found the staff friendly, but the slots very tight & the drink service not so great. They offer a fast continental Starbucks breakfast (fruit, pastry or muffin & coffee) with guarantied delivery within 15 minutes up until 11am for just under $10 which beat waiting in the LONG morning Starbucks line. Other room service was fine, but expect to wait ~45 minutes which is about the same as other large Vegas hotels. The beds are very comfortable. The first night was nice & quiet, but FRI & SAT (Halloween weekend) was very loud. Friday night we were awaken ~ 3am with a fire alarm & Saturday ~4:30 with loud partygoers which I am incline to write-off as just a rowdy Halloween crowd. This hotel seems to cater to the young rowdy crowd, but again, it could just be the Halloween weekend crowd. I have also stayed at Ballys, the Mirage, the Las Vegas Hilton, the Bellagio, the Wynn, the Stratosphere, and Circus Circus. The monorail is very convenient & it was nice to stay once on the south end of the Strip. The hotel is not as nice as the Bellagio or the Wynn, but the room was more than adequate. I think this hotel is better suited for table players & maybe families with children than a 40+ slot player. I would give this hotel one more try, but I didn't like it as well as Ballys, the Mirage, The Las Vegas Hilton, the Bellagio or the Wynn (all also comped rooms). If you can find a good priced deal then it is worth a try.
