My husband and i stayed at the flamingo from 4/5 - 4/12. we had problems at check in. we were paying cash for our room, which i guess was a problem for the flamingo. they wanted $100 a night for security deposit.....so if we paid them $700, that would have been $700 out of our vacation spending money..so i put up a stink and said nooooo, so they settled for $200 (we did get this back upon check out) now if you use a credit card, they just hold the money on that.
we got to our room and i did a once around to check if it was clean. go to the bathroom and noticed not one, not two but about 20 curly body hairs on the floor. so i immediatley call housekeeping to have someone come and clean this. we go out and come back around 5:00 p.m.....hair still on the floor, call again....go out, come back...hair still there call again....noone comes...they finally came after my 4th call at 3:30 a.m. YES 3:30 in the morning....I was not happy! so the next day we get up and go to the pull around 9:00, there was about 4 million lounge chairs, you couldnt even walk. and all of them had towels on them like they were taken, but nooooooooo people to be found. so we watch a few chairs for a 1/2 hour and noone came so we took them...well about an hour after that a women shows up pretty much yelling "why did you take our chairs?" so i told her, they were vacant for a 1/2 hour and that is what the sign says. so needless to say she wasnt happy! there are sooo many palm trees that the sun barley shines anywhere but in the pool. so for the rest of the trip i got up at 7:30 - 8:00 to go sit at the pool so i can have a good spot in the sun. a bucket of beers (6 bottles) is $27.00 a 12 0z margarita is $7.50...insane. the music is soooooo loud and horrible songs..(cindy lauper, prince, ect.) same songs everyday. LOUD
the flamingo web talks about all the nice pools, waterslides, waterfalls....waterslide closed, fountian closed, only 1 pool open, hottub always full of kids....and yes the ducks do swim in the pool...a mama and babies. GROSS!
i sat a slot machine for an hour and never had a waitress come to me and see if i wanted a drink. that happened a few times.
not worth the money....good location though.

We are long-time Vegas visitors, but this was our first visit to the Flamingo. The rooms are fine, nothing special; the casino is great (albeit the machines are tight); but our one big issue is with the lack of security at the elevators. Unlike the Excalibur, which has guards at every elevator checking room keys, security at the Flamingo
was nonexistent. Otherwise, our stay of 3 nights there was a visual joy (gardens and pool area are lovely and clean) and the location is perfect for walking to many other hotels and casinos. Also, the hotel
is fairly well maintained for its age. Our room overlooked the entire
Caesers complex and it was fascinating to watch the activity. We will
stay at the Flamingo again, and might even mention the elevator situation to the staff the next time.

Decided to try this hotel on our fifth trip to Vegas. Can't beat the location since we decided not to rent a car.

We went with one of the Deluxe (older) rooms and ours was big, and clean, although definately worn (burn mark on blanket, chipped furniture, cracked bathroom grout). Stayed on the Garden View side so we avoided any nightlife noise.

Baggage claim, housekeeping and registration desk service was very good. Tropical Breeze Cafe was below par on service and food quality, even for a hotel coffee shop, but the Steakhouse46 was superb.

We especially liked the pool area and wildlife habitat. Great for walking around in.

If you are looking for fancy, or a really special room, this probably isn't the place for you- but if it's a bargain price for a run-of-the-mill hotel room, it's great.

I stayed at the Flamingo for three nights as part of a convention. It was an uneven experience.

Check-in was very easy. I used the kiosk at the Las Vegas airport. The service was quick enough, but by the time I had room keys my baggage had already been taken off the carousel and sent to the "unclaimed" office - they move fast at that airport!

I didn't take the upgrade to a Go Room. I requested a room with a Strip View, and was given a 9th floor room. On the 9th floor, the view is obstructed, but you see enough to get the idea. The room was nice and clean, and I was delighted to find they stock Gilchrist & Soames soaps, which are some of the best.

My only problem with the room was a big one - the sound of running water was constant. Every time someone flushed a toilet at night, it woke me up. I've stayed in some hotel rooms with "outside noise" before, but nothing like this! During the rest of my trip, I had to leave the TV on all night to drown out the random water noise. I asked around; it seems rooms near me had the same problem, but rooms on higher floors did not.

The rest of the hotel is showing it's age a bit, but not anything ghastly. It shows up in the cracked elevator buttons or missing signs here and there. It's due for some renovations. The casino isn't as smokey as Excalibur, and the layout wasn't even that confusing.

The location is excellent, central to everything, and is one of the best things the Flamingo has going for it.

I really didn't dislike this hotel. After three nights of bad sleep, I should have, but I didn't. I would probably stay here again, but would try to get on a higher floor.

Booked through United Vacations really cheap - $350 from Ohare, round trip to Flamingo. When we got to the front desk, they are really pushing these GO rooms. So, they said my room wasnt available, but I could upgrade to a GO room for $60 a night and that the room was ready. So, I thought I would. Rooms are nice, different, think Miami Deco 1960's and Pink. Bathroom was big, small pillows on the beds. Anyways, made our way to the pool - packed! Plus, tons of children. Why bring children to Vegas? It really wasn't just a few, I mean I thought I was at a Disney hotel. Fine whatever.... So, that night, we ended back at the room around 2:30- a good 24 hours from the time we left Chicago. So, 5 am, I woke up to pounding, shoveling, tons of construction noises, I called the front desk and they stated that they are working on floors 16,17 & 18. I asked to be moved. The person I spoke with said I would have to wait to be placed on a list. So, I showered, went downstairs to the front desk and asked to be moved again. I don't do well on 2 hours of sleep. They gentleman was shocked that I wasn't told about the construction... and insisted that the rooms were the best thing in town. Even stated they are as good as the Wynn's. I told him not to flatter his hotel, the Wynn's are awsome. He then started to quiz me on the wynn hotels rooms. I asked to get a different room, even to downgrade me back to my regular room. He argued with me and said he would comp a buffet. After I said again, either move me to a different room or I'll check out and go elsewhere. So, after checking with his manager twice, they placed me in a motel 6 room on the same floor. All the flamingo has going is location and the pool. Sorry guys, everyone loves the go rooms, but they just aren't that special.

We ate at the Wynn twice, once at a sit down place and then again at the buffet. Food there is AWSOME!!!
