We have just returned from our almost annual Mother daughter Vegas adventure. I received a comped room for five nights. When we got to the check in desk there were only three people ahead of us ( Sunday afternoon at 2:30). We were offered and accepted the $25.00/night upgrade to a Go room. I am glad we did, the room was great and the coffee and fridge alone saved us at least $10.00 to $15.00 per day. There were a few small issues, like no regular coffee, our safe didn't work, and a lot of dust, but a quick phone call or a note solved these problems, very quickly and in a very firendly manner. My neat freak Mom did not think the room was clean enough, but I thought it to be fine. I did not like the fact that the outside windows were so dirty, though our view was great!
We had almost every breakfast at Ellis Island, great value. We walked back and forth to the Orleans three days in a row, we both won a Royal Flush at the Orleans, hence the reason for the return trips!
We saw the show Human Nature, bough the tickets ahead on Goldstar, LOVED the show, great time had by all and for all ages.
Drink service was very prompt at the Flamingo, we were playing nickel Video poker close to the door on the Bill's side and the waitresses came around very frequently.
We went to the pool a couple of times, the main pool is now closed, the adult one is open but there were lots of loungers around the main pool. You have to go early to get any sun, due to the tall bulidings and the angle of the sun at this time of year.
My Mom treated us to a couples massage in the Spa. Great time, if you can request Jeff, you should, one of the best massages I have ever had. Very good service in the spa, the facility is older of coourse, but very clean and very relaxing.
Overall we had a great time, the service was great, and I am glad we upgraded to the Go room. To be fair, I didn't see one of the regular rooms to compare, but as I mentioned the coffee pot and the fridge make it worthwhile.
Back to reality and to start planning our next adventure.
