Stayed in a GO room, which was excellent, on 17th floor with great view of pool / wildlife habitat. Only downside to room was the frosted glass door on the bathroom, I hate that, what's wrong with a solid door?

The hotel was great, perfect location, right in the middle of the action, the casino itself isn't the best, its one of the smaller ones on the strip and is looking a bit dated, but hasa great poker room and loads of 1c slots to please the small stakes punter (me).

Sampled the Paradise Garden Cafe, it was over priced and not the best, but don't let that put you off...just eat elsewhere!

The pool compex at the Flamingo is probably the best on the strip, loads of palm trees, flowing pool, hundreds of sun loungers.

Great hotel.

This was my first trip to Vegas. While the hotel was affordable, $70.00 a night, the costs for all of the extras sure did add up. There are NO COFFEE POTS in the rooms. Coffee in the lobby costs a minimu of $3.00 a cup. Gym fees to use the work out equipment was $10.00 a day. NOTHING is free at this hotel. They charge 0.35 a minute to use the computers and $1.00 per page to print anything like a boarding pass or web page. Water is $3.00 a bottle and the cheapest meal is in the Tropical Breeze Diner for $10.00. Buffets are adequate but priced at $22.00. The pool was closed due to the month I traveled even thought the weather was in the 80's. Show tickets are 125.00 and up. Events such as Madam Tussue's museum was $25.00 and the indoor skydiving was %75.00. FIND COUPONS WHEREVER YOU CAN! You can say I have sticker shock and will not return to Vegas any time soon.

The Flamingo Hotel and Casino is simply what it says Hotel and Casino not city streets with shopping malls etc, We've been going to Vegas for several years and just love the location and service at this property. You have somewhat of a wait to get checked in but when its your turn service is superb and our updated strip view Go room was very accomodating. Overall, this is old style Vegas at its best and you dont have a hike just to get around the property. We will visit again.

We have just returned from our almost annual Mother daughter Vegas adventure. I received a comped room for five nights. When we got to the check in desk there were only three people ahead of us ( Sunday afternoon at 2:30). We were offered and accepted the $25.00/night upgrade to a Go room. I am glad we did, the room was great and the coffee and fridge alone saved us at least $10.00 to $15.00 per day. There were a few small issues, like no regular coffee, our safe didn't work, and a lot of dust, but a quick phone call or a note solved these problems, very quickly and in a very firendly manner. My neat freak Mom did not think the room was clean enough, but I thought it to be fine. I did not like the fact that the outside windows were so dirty, though our view was great!

We had almost every breakfast at Ellis Island, great value. We walked back and forth to the Orleans three days in a row, we both won a Royal Flush at the Orleans, hence the reason for the return trips!

We saw the show Human Nature, bough the tickets ahead on Goldstar, LOVED the show, great time had by all and for all ages.

Drink service was very prompt at the Flamingo, we were playing nickel Video poker close to the door on the Bill's side and the waitresses came around very frequently.

We went to the pool a couple of times, the main pool is now closed, the adult one is open but there were lots of loungers around the main pool. You have to go early to get any sun, due to the tall bulidings and the angle of the sun at this time of year.

My Mom treated us to a couples massage in the Spa. Great time, if you can request Jeff, you should, one of the best massages I have ever had. Very good service in the spa, the facility is older of coourse, but very clean and very relaxing.

Overall we had a great time, the service was great, and I am glad we upgraded to the Go room. To be fair, I didn't see one of the regular rooms to compare, but as I mentioned the coffee pot and the fridge make it worthwhile.

Back to reality and to start planning our next adventure.

Originally booked a regular room but paid for an upgrade. Pleased we did as we overlooked the Strip. Although the room was spacious, the cleaning was not always as desired and we had to request the coffee, etc on 2 occasions, but overall were very satisfied with the room and location.
