Stayed at The Flamingo 4/28 - 5/2/05. Arrived in LV later in the evening after a delay at the airport. Unfortunately, the airport check in was closed. Note: The airport website says the airport checkin for hotels is open until 1:00 a.m., we were in the airport at 11:45 and both hotel checki desks were closed.

Waited a bit at the front desk due to lines, but once we reached the counter, checkin could not have been easier. Nice clerk upgraded our room, without us asking, and apologized that we had to upgrade. We stayed in Room 27051 (smoking room). Seemed like it was recently renovated. Blue in color and was very clean. A king-sized bed, small vanity table with mirror and lights, entertainment center, desk and chair, small chair in corner with high table next to it, and a large couch near windows. The bathroom is average size. I, like another reviewer, would have liked a vent in the bathroom, but there was not one.

Ate at the buffett on Saturday morning and was again, surprised. $30 plus tax will get you anything you could possibly want for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ate lunch and had cocktails in Margaritaville, again very good. Drinks can be pricey, but the atmosphere makes up for the price. Only downfall is the 2:00 a.m. closing time.

Overall, would highly recommend The Flamingo. You cannot beat the location. If I head back to LV again, I will definitely look into The Flamingo.

Just back from the Flamingo in Las Vegas. (our first trip there). We went for our son's wedding at the Paris Hotel. We were with friends & family who were staying at about 5 other hotels. They all had complaints. We had no complaints, not even one!! We loved the Flamingo. I would recommend to everyone to stay there. I would certainly stay there again and again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located so everything was easy to get to from the Flamingo. And the Breakfast Buffet was excellent. We enjoyed the view of the waterfalls, Flamingos, fish, & penquins. The pool and grounds at the Flamingo are really beautiful. The rooms are nice and very quiet. At times we thought we must be the only ones staying on our floor. We never heard noises in the surrounding rooms or hallways.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo!!!

My husband and I stayed for one night. The hotel grounds were much nicer than I thought they'd be. Our room was on the 27th floor and we had a pretty nice view. The room was quite large, the bathroom amenities were nice. Alarm clock and wake up call both worked. There was a stain on the carpet but who really cares. Fantastic location and room for $100!

Well, our dream trip was all that we had hoped for with the exception of our hotel. Must admit the check in at the airport is one of the best ideas to come along in years. While our husbands got the luggage my sister and I checked in. Cool how they make you feel like you are in a hotel lobby. We had no wait, asked for a remodeled room with a strip view, got it no problem. I will mention to readers, we were booked for 11 nights and reminded the staff when checking in and I told the young lady what I expected and that I wanted it free. Well, all my assertiveness got us a gorgeous view but that was it. The room was a dump. We had several light fixtures that did not work. No vanity. Just a small regular chair , no couch, and a small table w/ two chairs. The bathroom was gross. The tile was older than my dog and overall, it wasn't sparkling. That is one of my biggest turn-offs. I check the bathroom the minute I get in anywhere. Needless to say, my husband and I were not thrilled with the room so we went downstairs to the front lobby and asked to see a manager. We told her about the issues we had and frankly, I would have felt more interest from the mailman. She could care less. I explained that we were booked for 11 nights and that should count for something. WRONG!!! The only thing we got from her was that she was going to send housekeeping back up to clean the room again and bring extra towels. We really felt like we didn't matter at all. Just another body.
Other than the room, I cannot say anything bad about the hotel surroundings and the staff (other than Miss who gives a ----). We ate at the 24 hour coffee shop and enjoyed the meals. We are usually running around crazy hours and don't confine our eating around conventional dining times, so often at night we would get a hot dog or sweets at the little stand in the corner of the casino near the front. I thought the casino was a good size and not overwhelming like the MGM and other huge properties. We had no trouble getting around and could get to our rooms within minutes of any direction. we were on the 26th floor and had a gorgeous view of Caesar's. Could see the penthouses and how the other half lives.
Never won much money but played a lot at night to build my comps. I ended up with enough to pay for the coffee room service we ordered each morning. The location of course is worth the stay for those who like to walk around. We always rent a car so it never really is an issue when we travel to Vegas. The reason we stayed at the Flamingo was because we couldn't find a hotel to accomodate our 11 day stay because of the last weekend being NASCAR race weekend. (Which by the way, all the hotels triple their rates for that weekend, --------). So, knowing that if you shop around early enough you can get some decent rates at other hotels, this was the last time we will stay at the Flamingo. We have been traveling to Vegas since 1983 and this was my 17th or 18th trip. Of all the places we have stayed, this will probably not be a repeat.

That being said, because I have been so many times I can say to the first and second timers, the price is right, the location cannot be beat and the size is user friendly. The staff was very nice and friendly and it also has a monorail stop which gives you even more mobility without a car.

My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo from April 24-29th. We arrived late on Sunday evening and were given a suite for the first night. The room overlooked the pool and had two bathrooms, combined living room/dining room area with wet bar and a separate bedroom. The master bath had a whirlpool tub, separate shower, toilet, and double sink vanity area. Although the room looked somewhat worn, it was fun staying like a high roller if only for a night. The next morning we picked up coffee and danish at the Java Roast right in the hotel on the strip and had breakfast with my sister and husband. We spent the rest of the morning by the pool and then were transferred to our 'real' room which was 18060 facing the south strip and fountains at Bellagio. At check-in I had requested a renovated room with a view of the fountains and the very accommodating lady at the counter found exactly the room we wanted! The room had an average sized bathroom, comfortable king-sized bed, vanity table and chair, three club chairs, table and coffee table. We had meals at The Garden Buffet (which we thought was above average), Mon Ami Bagi (very nice atmosphere, great location, and delicious food) and the Top of the World at The Stratosphere (view that can't be beat and very good food.) I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, MGM, Mirage and now Flamingo. I think both my husband and I would favor Flamingo. You can not beat its center strip location, beautiful pool, friendly, clean casino, and adequate rooms for a modest cost. It is upbeat but not pretentious...very comfortable feeling throughout. So nice not to have to walk miles to get to the pool, shops or strip. If you are looking for good value and an excellent location, the Flamingo fits the bill.
