We have stayed in many many hotels in Vegas - we normally go at least 4 times a year - but this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. I have to admit I was not totally thrilled at the prospect of staying at the Flamingo on this trip, but of all the pools in Vegas, this is my kids' favorite, so that's where we booked. (The pool is great, with 3 waterslides on the kids' side and a huge waterfall pool for kids and adults. It gets a little busy but that's because it's so awesome.) The regular rooms are ok but this time I was pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a Go Suite. For a family traveling with kids, this is the best. Not only is the room spacious and the amenities very modern, but with 3 TV's, 2 DVD players, and a separate living area with a pull out couch, our kids had their own space and we had ours... glorious. I also had work to do while we were there and the desk area gave me plenty of room to set up my laptop and spread out when I needed to (taking a conference call was no problem because I was just able to shut the door with the kids in the other room). And right downstairs by the elevators is a very reasonable pizza shop so after a long day of sun and swimming, we could buy pizza for the kids for dinner and my teen could watch the younger ones in the room (plenty of room and multiple TV's) so that we could have our own night out on the town. The location on the strip is awesome so there are tons of dining options within close distance. I would actually rather stay at the Flamingo and just walk across the street to Caesars than stay there - their pools are big but not as fun and I feel like I'm always shushing the kids there. As Diamond Club members, we are able to stay at any of the Harrah's properties, and though I like them all, here they make you feel so welcome - not like some of the others that kind of make you feel like they're doing you a big favor. The Flamingo Diamond lounge is decent - not super impressive but they have good service. Unfortunately, the drink service at the tables is not as good, but that's really the only negative about the Flamingo. They have a good variety of table games and despite the reasonable minimums, they still get plenty of nice patrons. It may be one of the oldest hotel/casinos on the strip and perhaps some of the cocktail waitresses may have dated Bugsy Siegel, but we love the Flamingo and we'll definitely be back.
