I have been to vegas 7 times now and have stayed at some of the nicer places on the strip (Mandalay bay, Ceasers). Flamingo is on the best intersection in the city and a quick walk to my favorite 'value' casinos (Bills, O'Shea's and Casino Royale) as well as a quick walk to high end casinos (Bellagio, Venetian, Mirage). You simply cannot beat the location.

The pool is nice, not amazing but again it's all about value here. Love the grotto on hot days, we got back today and it was 109 while we were there. you can get to the pool early to get a decent seat (get there around 9am) and when it gets hot you can relax in the grotto and it feels like its 70 degrees. There are also kid-friendly slides and waterfalls, which I did not try.

We had comp rooms in a deluxe room, and upgraded to the GO room with a strip view of ceasers and bellagio for just $30 per night. The GO room is as good as any room I have ever stayed in on the strip and MUCH less expensive, and if you get the strip view you can sit by the window and watch the bellagio fountian shows.

Cons: They definately do not have the attention to detail here that the mid to high end places have. The hotel interior is badly in need of a paint job, you may see some peeling wallpaper in you room, there may be some stray cigarette butts by the pool in the morning, the pool gets very crowded very early, but the price, location and the GO rooms make it well worth it. The rooms were always VERY clean and housekeeping did a great job.

I have actually never stayed at the same hotel twice in my 7 times out, but I would definately stay here again, especaially if prices stay this low. I went with my wife and another couple, and we had a blast at the pool, then going to Bills, O'sheas, and Casino Royale to gamble at night. When you read the bad reviews on here, understand that thospe people are paying very low prices, but expecting the bellagio quality...just not going to happen. This place is really fun, with tons of history, a good pool and perfect location.

This hotel was perfect for our trip as it was centrally located on the strip making it easy to visit anywhere we needed to along the strip. The hotel itself was great value for money compared to other expensive themed hotels on the strip and had good service. The rooms were amazing too. We stayed in the new Go rooms so make sure when you book a room at this hotel that you are located in one of these. They are massive and are decorated in a modern contemporary style with lavish pink bathrooms and a t.v both in the room and also in the bathroom. In addition we had two massive double beds which were comfortable and spacious. We also had an impressive view of the strip , the Rio Hotel and also a partial view of the Bellagio fountains! In additoin the grounds and swimming pool area are great too. They are located at the back of the complex and they are huge, there are even real flamingos and various other birds situated in the grounds! However be warned as the hotel swimming pool does seem to have a younger and rowdier crowd and its noisy so may not be suitable or relaxing for older visitors. Overall a great stay and I would definitely reccommend staying here and would stay here again in the future.

Ok, I booked 1 night in LV at the Flamingo as we were just passing through on our way to California. After I booked the trip, I began hearing bad things about the casino/hotel. So I did some more research, read loads of reviews, and heard bad after bad after bad review about the rooms, the service, the price, etc. I began to get REALLY nervous, and was actually trying to back out of the Flamingo after reading all the bad stuff about it. I heard that once you book your reservation there, they don't give you a 100% refund so I thought I'd just go ahead and just do it, get it over with, and learn from my mistake of not researching things better. To my surprise... we checked in very easily, our room was automatically upgraded to a King/Suite with no rate increase. We got into the room and we were AMAZED. It was beautiful, huge, clean, and again AMAZING. We couldn't believe our luck. There was smoke in the casino obviously, but none drifted to our room. I had to call down and ask for more pillows and blankets and the bellhop came up within 5 mins. He was a very sweet man so I gave him a small tip and he was so gracious! I did NOT want to leave the next morning! We had a great time and I can't wait to go back!!

As I'm sure anyone reading these reviews realizes, they are not gospel..they're just one person's personal experience. That being said I'll give you our experience on our 4 night visit June 18-21st. I'll preface by saying we stayed here back in 2001 and enjoyed it. After reading reviews and checking out virtual tour/photos it wasn't hard to figure out that if we didn't book a new GO room we'd have the same accomodations as last time only 8 yrs older. We expected "worn" but wouldn't accept any room that wasn't clean.

We stood in line at check-in about 15 minutes (arrived around 1pm on a Thurs) Were offered a GO room for an extra $30/nt. I do enjoy a nice room but just decided the $$ could be better spent and respectfully declined hoping for the best. Asked for the nicest view available on a high floor. Were told the hotel was 95% full but she'd see what she could find....gave us 21st floor overlooking grounds, pool etc....just fine. She even spent some extra time seeing if she could book others in our party on our floor. Couldn't but they did end up with adjoining rooms as requested. Nice customer service. Room was exactly what we expected: worn (ie...knicks in furniture, some carpet stains (we actually spilled a little booze ourselves--oops!) plastic shower curtain, etc.. They do need upgrading. However, no bugs. mold, candy wrappers etc....everything was clean. lots of towels, plenty of shampoo, conditioner. lotion etc....for the 4-7 hrs. each night sleeping and the 90 minutes getting ready between pool and night fun, it was just fine. Hairdryer blew, safe locked, drains drained. doorknobs turned, air worked...blah blah blah.....

Only ate in one restaurant in the Flamingo. It was called Voga. Contemporary decor, great service and delicious food. Worth checking out.

The pools are an all day party. It's true, they are crowded. The gates opened at 8 am and people started lining up at 7am. By 8am the sun is out and there were probably 50 people in line. They ask to see your room key before you can enter. No food/beverage is allowed unless it appears to have been purchased at the hotel and "most" of the pool entrance staff check bags on the way in. If you arrived after about 9:30 or 10am you most likely wouldn't find several chairs open together. Burgers/chicken sandwiches at poolside grill are actually very good. Drinks were typical resort prices; $10 for approx 14 oz cup. Here's a little tip for the cocktailers: if you're planning on having more than one drink at the pools during your stay, buy the heavy plastic "souvenir" cup with snap on lid..it's $19 for the first one and $16 for any refills. It's not as expensive as it sounds because it's huge--32 oz!! Wash out and use during entire stay. They will fill with whatever you want for that $16...Margarita, Mai-Tai, Long Island Tea, etc..lots of top shelf hooch. I saw one bartender using Grey Goose. Oh yeah, the bartenders...very nice. Good mixologists and lots of fun too. Music is loud, party is on...easy to meet people and that's one of the fun parts of vacation (IMO) If you want to sit in quiet and read you may be out of luck. The adults only "GO POOL" is separated from other pool but still in same area. I think the sign said you had to be 21 to enter. Free for ladies, $10 cover for men. It's a younger crowd, DJ spins, topless is allowed. Way crowded...just like a bar only outside in the hot sun. The place to be if you're young and on the prowl. If I were in my 20's I would prefer the GO pool but I'm not so we just checked it out one day for a bit and went back to the bigger pool. It's very picturesque, water is clean and cool, nice plants, islands, waterfall and lots of fun people. Chatted with a few of the security guys around pool during our stay about some the crazy antics they've had to deal with. They take it in stride and said nothing surprises them anymore. Bet it doesn't.

Didn't win any cash in the Flamingo but didn't gamble there much either.

I've rambled enough...we enjoyed our stay. You're welcome for the good review that this resort does deserve in our opinion and as experienced by us on our particular visit. That's all any of us can speak to. If you didn't enjoy your stay I'm sure you have your reasons and issues but they're just that...YOUR reasons and issues.

In summary, IMO, the rooms need upgrade, the staff was great, my one food experience was very good, the pools were rockin' and we came home laughing and wishing our 4 days hadn't gone by so quickly.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I'll try to help. Enjoy your trip, wherever you stay and make some fun memories.......Viva Las Vegas!

We stayed the weekend of June 19-June 21. I can't complain about the 'value' as it was a comped room. The location mid-strip can't be beat and we enjoyed the Flamingo pools. They play great music out there, though it is crowded and we got the last two lounge chairs (by 11 am) so get there early if you plan to use it.

We arrived for our stay about 5pm on a Friday. The line was wrapped round and round and they only had TWO checklings working. I know these are rough economic times but increase your staff on a Friday Flamingo! Other than the long, LONG, wait to check in, the room was definitely adequate. We stayed in a King, Non-smoking on the 7th floor. No view, but it's what we expected on a comp. We ran out of toothpaste, I called housekeeping, and they promptly delivered a complimentary tube to us. Nice touch.

Overall, I'd definitely return to this hotel. The lobby is beautiful. They have a nice casino and despite the long line, staff was friendly and efficient when helpingus. It is not a luxury property by any means, but if you are like us and rarely in the room, you will find it sufficient.
