first time staying at the Flamingo, and it was a great experience. very clean and the service was good also. great location, in the middle of the strip and one of the best pools in the area. Ofcourse the casino area was nice too.. would surely reccommend the flamingo for visitors and locals who party too much and can't make it home;)

1st time and got a room on the 16th overlooking the gardens and pools. The room was BIG and wide screened and as good as any I stayed at on the 7 previous trips to Vegas.Excellent location and bus stops outside( $7 per 24 hrs). The pool music was a bit loud for my liking and was very popular with just about all the beds taken by 9 am.The hot tubs were great.Coffee and other food in the hotel was pricey but O'Shae's has a 24 hour fast food court next door and behind the Flamingo is a convenience store.

Over the past several years, my wife & I have very much enjoyed our previous trips to the Flamingo with our young son. (currently 9) Our visits to Las Vegas & the Flamingo revolve around going to pools during the day, and nice dinner & shows at night. This trip was going to be no different, or so we thought. We were in Vegas 5 nights, with our last two at the Flamingo to take advantage of the amazing pool atmosphere that our son loves. (water slides, water falls, volleyball & basketball in the pool)

Myself having had large chunk of my face cut off due to skin cancer, and my wife being very fair skinned, we always find chairs/lounges in the shade. This trip was no different, and we arrived at the pool at 8:00am, and found a chair & lounge chair in a very shaded spot near the water slides where we could watch our son enjoy the water slides. We've sat in this exact spot for the past 4 visits to the Flamingo. For two hours we were at our chair and/or in the water having fun. At 9:55, right before the water slides were to open, a lifeguard approached my wife and told her we had to move. We explained that we have sat in that exact spot on 4 separate visits to the Flamingo. Didn't matter, he called the pool bouncer to make us move. When we asked the pool bouncer to help us find another spot in the shade, he said "We don't help people find chairs." But they had no problem telling us the chairs we'd been sitting in for two hours were not to be used by us. We explained that numerous lifeguards & security guards had walked past us between 8:00 - 9:55am and not one told us we needed to move. Didn't matter, now that all the chairs were taken, we had to move. Two security guards were asked to "keep an eye on us" during the back & forth discussion. Then the pool bouncer had the nerve to say "If you show me a 7-Star Rewards Card, I'll let you sit anywhere you want, otherwise you need to move." My wife was crying because our trip was being ruined by the staff of the Flamingo. I was beyond angry, but walked away to be with my son who was on the other side of the pool watching the incident unfold.

He asked "Why are they making us move?" I had no response as the explanations given made no sense, especially because we have been seated in that exact same spot multiple times in the past without any problems. He & I got into line for the water slide.

My wife's tears finally resulted in the staff allowing her stay on the lounge chair, where she remained, curled up in a fetal position for most of the morning.

While waiting in line at the water slide, one of the security guards was walking by, I stopped him & apologized for arguing with the staff about us sitting in that location, as we'd done so often. His reply to me was, "no problem, you're the guest on vacation, we're here 7 days a week, you're the one that should be happy, not me. The rules at the pool are always changing. If it was up to us (security) the rules would be the same, and everyone would know them in advance, but that's not the way it is. Try to enjoy yourselves, you got what you wanted (the chair in the shade)" I replied, "Not really"

Sad, sad, sad.

Hotel room was like an old Motel 6 but with a nice view. Room was dirty, bathtub drain was clogged with nasties and bath/shower knob broke second night of stay. Behind furniture and inside vents looked like they haven't been cleaned in years and the carpet was probably from the 1980's. Elevator to parking garage looked like one you would expect to find in a housing project.

220 dollars for a basic room on a Saturday night is a rip off. They even charge 14 bucks to use the internet in the room. Think it would be easy to find a better value on the strip.

BTW, thanks to all those people who gave this hotel good ratings that it didn't deserve.

Ok so my fiance and I planned to get married at the Flamingo hotel in las vegas. We brought along about 8 people. Let me just say that my fiance and I always stay in 3 star resorts so we know what to expect and we werent expecting caviar and mints on our pillows my any means. First off flight delayed 3 hours not the hotels fault of course but when we landed in vegas and checked into our resort I asked the lady at the front desk if we could be upgraded to a Go room. She told me they didnt have any available. Then she told us we were to be charged $300.00 per person per night as a deposit. I had never heard of this so I questioned her and she said EVERYBODY has to pay it. Meanwhile my fiances brother has just finished checking in and we asked him about the deposit, he said he didnt have to pay one and it was already included when he booked the trip. We had booked the trip at the same time and through the same airline. When I asked the front desk lady about it she just shrugged it off and then told me she could change it to $100.00. And then the front desk lady next to her offered a couple a free upgrade to a Go room which was supposabily not available when I asked. Needless to say after about a half and hour at the front desk we paid the deposit of 100.00 and went to our room. Now the room for not being a GO room was fine. The air worked, bed was comfy you could tell it was old but still a good room nonetheless. The bathroom was also fairly big so that was a plus as well. So the Flamingo is in a great location, the casino is pretty small but easy to navigate so that was all good. Our second day we went to the courthouse got our marriage license which was a breeze and lounged by the pool. Be aware that the pool does fill up and so do the chairs so either get there early or sniper around for anybody that looks like they are leaving. But the pool area itself is very nice and tropical themed. major plus on the pool. Let it be known that for the most part the staff and the restaurants were quite rude. The next day was the day of the wedding. Met at the chapel, got married by the water falls it was beautiful! The wedding coordinators were great and everything went off without a hitch (sorry for the pun) Cant say enough good things about the wedding coordinators or the minister both were exceptional at their jobs. After the wedding the 10 of us went to the paradise buffet to eat and were told we had to pay an 11% gratuity for groups of 8 or more. No big deal we paid the money, but when we were to be seated the hostess told us she had to split us up into 5 and 5 because they didnt have tables that large. My fiance and my family demanded that they get their gratuity back since we werent sitting together we werent a group of 10 anymore. After an argument with the hostess the manager did come and seat us together, but come on folks this is a wedding party for crying out loud!!! The food was good the buffet in the morning was excellent! Not as pricey if you go during the week which I would recommend to anybody if possible. Also my sister and brother in law NEVER once got their rooms cleaned and they were never in their rooms the whole day. For 3 days not one single person cleaned their room and the same happened to my mother. When the called and asked for clean towels they were brought up to the room promply (how nice of housekeeping!) The next day we left. Things to see: the Bellagio fountains, check out the MGM grand looked like a super hotel and the lion exhibit was great, walk or take the monorail to a few other hotels they are great to see and the free show are awesome. Overall I wouldnt stay at the Flamingo hotel again. The staff were rude and unconcerned with the overall well being of their customers and the rooms. There were a few perks, the pool, the food, the wedding coordinators (if it hadnt been for them the whole trip and wedding would have been a major bust) Vegas is a cool city, but my now husband and I got much better treatment at the Flamingo resort in cancun which was only a 2 star resort. Overall dont waste your money here there are other hotels in vegas that you could get more bang for your buck!
