We stayed in a Go Room for $100 per night after taxes, overlooking the Go Pool. (will discuss the Go Pool later). We stayed June 2 -6 Monday through Friday. We checked in at 10:00 a.m. but room wasn't ready. In fairness to the Flamingo, check in starts at 4:00. No line to check in. We checked back frequently with the concierge and got into our room at 1:00.
Room was clean and very cool looking. Big comfortable bed. Nice plasma TV. We had a couple of issues (broken lamp, safe didn't work). We called the desk and this was corrected within a hour. They cleaned our room very well each day.
Regular pool is a big beautiful lagoon-like pool with 4 billion lounge chairs crammed around the pool deck. In fairness again to the Flamingo, every chair in the joint was used by guests. You have to get down to the pool in the morning to reserve chairs or you will be wondering around looking for a home base. People had a lot of fun around the pool. Music played, pool volleyball etc. The bikini clad cocktail waitresses were all over the place to get you drinks. Great people watching. Nice atmosplere, but don't plan on taking a nap by this pool.
If you can splurge, rent a cabana. $250 per day, but it included a one liter bottle of boose (we chose Absolute) and all the mixers. You get a TV, private lounges, fridge, shade and private waitress service. Not that bad of a deal, if you normally enjoy a few drinks on vacation, anyway. They say that the cabanas are for 6 people, but I would say 4 is the right number.
The Go Pool is a smaller private pool surrounded by fences and trees. Much more quiet and very relaxing. Women can relax at this pool for free but men have to pay $10 per day. Women can choose to take their tops off at this pool, but everyone needs to be 21 years old to be there. We spent one day at this pool. I would say that 20% of the women chose to loose their tops. There were basically two groups of people at this pool; couples (like my wife and me) and small groups of women.
At $100 per night this was a great value, but they charge extra for things that I think could have been included. There were no coffee makers in the room, so you have to go downstairs to buy a cup of coffee. The gym cost $10 per day.
The breakfast buffet was very good. The coffee shop was OK for lunch. Those were the only meals we ate at the Flamingo.
If I can ever get myself to spend $425 per night, I might try the Wynn, but for the price, the Flamingo gives you nice rooms, a great pool scene and one of the best locations on the strip.
