OK, so it has taken me a while to get to this review, but I'm going back to Vegas next month and just started thinking about it again. The Hard Rock was lots of fun; the music was good. The rooms have Bose Wave Radios. We had booked a mountain view room and were woken up at 7 am by construction noise outside (they were building a stage for the killers concert a couple of days later). Also, mountain view actually means airport view. Don't do it, unless you really need to save the money. A couple of other things in our room were broken. We complained and eventually got moved to a suite on the pool side. Nice!! Separate living room, huge bathroom with jetted tub, etc.

We had room service. I wanted the tuna steak sandwich that I had gotten at the pool the day before, but it wasn't on the menu, but they brought it to me anyway. I think we got much better treatment in the suite.

We were 2 single girls, age 28. There were hardly any other women at the hotel. Every time we sat down to gamble, some guys from another table would try to get us to go over to their table.

We were there mid-week. At first, we didn't like it bc it was too far from the strip, the shuttle service is limited, and taxi rides were adding up. But by Thursday we didn't want to leave! the hotel definitely takes on a different attitude as you get closer to the weekend.

The highlight of our trip was on the last night, when we came in at 5 am, two members of Green Day were playing at the $5 blackjack table. They saw us checking them out and invited us over to play with them. Very cool!!

I would stay there again, but it is so expensive during the weekends, which are the really fun time. I wouldn't recommend it for your first trip to Vegas, since it is a good way from the strip, unless you don't mind paying $10 for a taxi numerous times a day.

We ate at Mr. Lucky's several times. Good country-fried steak and mashed potatoes. $7.77 deal is just ok, but it is cheap.

Also, pretty good comps at this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Hard Rock for two nights, and then joined our friends at the Flamingo for 3 nights.

We are in our mid 30s and really enjoyed the Hard Rock. It was a fun place and I liked that it was on the smaller side...I didn't have to wander forever to find what I wanted. Everything was off of the main casino floor including the restaurants, pool access, and room access. The music was good too and played everywhere. I would have even liked it pumped into our room! I wouldn't say it was extraordinarily loud - we could still talk no problem.

The room was spacious and clean. The furnishings were a bit sparse and plain - I expected more flashiness I guess. I liked the fact that you could open up the balcony doors. The bathroom was a good size with lots of counter space and decent lighting. The plasma TV was a nice touch, but not really used all that much.

The pool was really nice! On Thursday I was there right as it opened (8:00 am) to get chairs. I would say the chairs didn't fill until late morning, early afternoon. I guess that's one benefit of being at a party hotel, everyone sleeps in! The waitresses were friendly and we drank "Rock Star Lemonades" all day, which they sell in these big plastic tiki glasses for $14.50. Not cheap, but hey...what in Vegas is cheap? Friday was a bit of a different story. On weekends you need a wristband to enter the pool area. The chairs filled up quickly and it was a lot more crowded in general. By late afternoon there was a lot of cups and junk laying around. I think I prefer the weekday pool scene since it's a little slower. I don't even want to know what the Sunday Rehab party is like.

I do have to comment on the music at the pool in general. At the Hard Rock, the music was playing and just seemed to fill the whole area. I couldn't see speakers or figure out where it was coming from, but it was at the same volume everywhere, and seemed "above" us. At the Flamingo..the music blares from these speakers about 6 inches over your head. So depending on where you are sitting, you are either blasted out, or can barely hear it. Most of the time I felt blasted out.

We at Pink Taco for dinner our first night and it was really good. We hit the happy hour specials where they have 2 for 1 beer and margaritas. Also lots of chips and salsa. The food is very reasonably priced and they give you a lot. After filling up on margaritas and chips, I ended up taking half of my burrito back to the room for a late night snack. We got quesadillas out by the pool the next day and they were also very good. Served with salsa, guac, and sour cream. For breakfast on Friday we went to Mr. Lucky's and I had a good omelette. Finally we hit Mr. Lucky's again for dinner and the famous $7.77 special where you get a nice sized salad, a small steak, 3 shrimp on a skewer, and a huge scoop of garlic mashed potatoes. Great taste and great deal.

Some general observations:
Contrary to popular belief, it's not just supermodels at the Hard Rock. I noticed all shapes and sizes at the pool and no one was being beaten or flogged for it! Yes, there are a few "notice me" girls, one princess decided to go topless in her cabana, but I would say that is the exception, not the norm.

Also, be conscious of what event is going on at the Hard Rock if you decide to stay there. That Saturday was "Ultimate Fight Night" so by Friday, the fighters and their crews were rolling in. Lots of guys, lots of testosterone, lots of team flags and team colors. I had a feeling the fight in the ring wasn't going to be the only fight that weekend!

I was spoiled by the Hard Rock and a bit disappointed when we got to the Flamingo. I would definitely stay at the Hard Rock again.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night but have visited many times for gambling. The room was very clean, modern looking with a flat screen tv, and well sized for a standard room. The rate during the week was reasonable but on the weekend way too overpriced. We don't have any complaints about the accomodations except for the disgusting pool area. To keep it short: the water was not clean at all, it had a cloudy appearance and a slick greasy layer on top. There were straws floating around from people drinking in the pool. I had to swim around a fake glitter eyelash and beer can tabs buried in the beach area. Overall, I was grossed out after 5 minutes of wading and swimming around. I wouldn't mind staying at the hotel again but I will not ever visit the pool area again. It needs to be sterilized.

We did not stay at the Hard Rock Las Vegas but we did manage to walk to the hotel and eat their 777 special meal deal. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was fulfilling and the ambiance throughout the casino was great and had a nice young feeling. Great memorabilia throughout the 1st floor of the establishment. It’s off the beaten path but there’s always a taxi cab to take us where we wanted to go.

I went to the Hard Rock Hotel last year with 10 friends to celebrate my bachlorette party. I had the best time ever. The rooms are very spacious, there was a plasma and a cd player wich we used all the time. The bathroom was a little small but it was very clean. This is definetly the hotel to stay if you want to party, have fun and meet young people.
If your are planning a family trip, or a quiet and peacefull hotel this is not the place.
The staff where all extremely helpfull, not to mention the concierge who helped us make reservations in the BEST night clubs.
The view from my room was incredible (the pool).
The pool itself is amazing, the music, drinks and service is great.
I would stay here again in a minute but only if I'm planning to party, like I said if you are planning to go with your family or are looking for a relaxed time this is not the place. I LOVED STAYING HERE!!!
