The Pros:
The beds are really comfortable, the rooms are clean, the décor is nostalgic. There is an on site concert hall called “The Joint”. The seats are folding chairs and not real chairs, for the price of the tickets I expected something nicer. Santana was an awesome concert! There is Free Parking but it is a long walk to the Hotel rooms and Casino.
Now about the Cons:
We had a pool view room and a view of the strip, (sorta) we also had a view of the construction crane and all the garbage and all the noise. The music in the pool area was so loud that it was impossible to take a nap during the day so you could party at night. We couldn’t carry on a normal conversation in the pool without practically yelling at each other. We had a guest meeting us at the Hotel. He was in a suit and they were going to charge him $10 to come into the pool area. He was in a suit and wasn’t even going to use the pool. The Jacuzzi was a joke, barely warmer than the pool and the jets barely moved any water.
The music was just as loud in the casino area and in the restaurants.
The Hard Rock charges $25 a day to use the fitness center. $25 if you open the frig just to put in your own drinks to keep them cold. The mini bar items are really expensive. You would be better off walking across the street to the drug store or the liquor store and buying your own. $13.99 a day per computer to access the internet.
At 5:30 AM the maintenance crew was doing an early cleaning of the pool area. It started with gas powered blowers and power washing equipment. When we called the front desk to complain they said that they would check into it. They tried to tell us that is was the construction personnel and we told them that we had a visual on the person using the blower in the pool area, and it was not the construction. They did nothing!!!
So if you like lots of noise, and paying too much for everything stay at the Hard Rock. But if you want to have more money for gambling and night life stay some where else. I know I will. There are lots of nice hotel choices
